A lot has changed over the past 18 years of marriage bliss... but the one thing that hasn't is the way we still look at each other Love you Mrs. Jones... #blacklove

Have been trying to connect with @deecmarshall for some time now, but given her crazy schedule we haven't had the chance to connect. She is a mover and shaker in my industry and always on the go. So what do you do when you are focused on making connections that matter no matter the obstacle...you go to them and that's exactly what I did.

My friend @websigniaceo told me @deecmarshall would be leading an event at @prudential tonight for executive men of color in partnership with @blackenterprise and I thought to myself hummmm, here is the opportunity to connect with her. I canceled my prior commitment and showed up. I had a goal of meeting her before year end, and being in a room with successful men of color was also a plus 😁

As you can see I made the connection. Lesson here is this. Where there is a will there is a way. Stop making excuses and make shit happen for yourself. Go out there and grab opportunity by the horns and make it happen baby! No more half steppin'! I could have easily just waited. Waited for @deecmarshall to be free, but why wait!

For all the ladies and gents who follow me, make sure you (the ladies) and all the women you care about (men & ladies) come out and attend @thefemalecollaborative Women Who Roar event. Stop missing out on putting your potential to work because you're waiting to take advantage of opportunity. My team and I are serving it to you on a hot platter. Lets get it, link in bio.
