🙌🏽 Our final DJ announcement for our upcoming soirée is the inimitable Stev Zar. 🪢 Stev Zar weaves worlds when she performs. She defies conventional genre borders and draws inspiration from diverse musical references, creating a singular and engrossing sound environment. Her distinct percussive and bass-heavy style blends familiar sounds of house and techno with experimental electro and notes of acid and breakbeat folded into the chaos. The aim is body euphoria, her sets intend to balance playfulness and a tiny bit of chin-stroking to create a sound that deeply resonates with dancefloor champions. Her goal is to challenge her audience to move beyond genre to connect with the heart of the sound. Currently based in Melbourne/Narrm, Stev Zar’s work spans DJing, production, and co-curation for UMAMI Collective. 🎟️ This event is currently sold out. Expect a sexy “Euro Summer” energy in the Dining room. 11 - 12:30 @luqman.music & @_.dana_______ — one could say this is a @clubunity.naarm takeover. The Lebanese duo push the boundaries of underground club energy, crafting deeply narrative and emotionally charged sets that move between low-tempo techno, bass, and arabesque rhythms. - - - Headliner - - - 12:30am - 3am @stevzar, is no stranger to Capers, brings a background that spans much of Yugoslavia. Known for moving the entire room and weaving worlds through her performances, she traverses bass, club, jungle, techno, house, and everything in between. Mähallä & Capers present Kazdoura ~ Taxídi A wander. A road trip. A journey from the Middle East along the Mediterranean. “Kazdoura ~ Taxídi” brings together the rich cultures, sounds and flavours of these interconnected regions through a special collaboration between Capers, the Cypriot-Greek bar and restaurant in Thornbury, and Mähallä, a collective dedicated to connecting SWANA and Mediterranean communities in Naarm. For one special night, Capers will be transformed into two distinct spaces, guiding guests on a cultural journey from day into night — through music, food, celebration and shared diasporic traditions. Kazdoura (كزدورة) means a leisurely wander. Ταξίδι (Taxídi) means a trip. The day begins with bring-your-own chess boards with guests invited to settle in for a game hosted by @___mschess alongside pita pockets by Capers (kitchen). Out in the garden, The Kismet Project will set the tone with a stacked line-up of live music throughout the day, including a special performance from Greek hyperpop-electronic duo @baby_ouzo As day turns to night, the journey continues with DJs spanning SWANA and Mediterranean sounds, featuring Aysu, Smoochie, DJ Matab, Polat, DJ Moi, Luqman & Anahita, Disco Mediterranea, and headliner for the night, STEV ZAR. Come wander with us — eat, listen, dance, play and celebrate the connections that bring these cultures together.
