Healing was never meant to be painful, isolating, nor lonely. In a world that teaches how to separate the Creator from his Creation, we divided ourselves from our community. From the Earth. The mind and body divided. Even within our own head, the innocent wise child within is being pushed by our own inner critic. And let’s not even talk about the spirit - many are scared to tune into. Too painful to face the division we have created for ourselves as we let the external world dictates how we live our life, even when we know there is more than this. It all starts with the forgetfulness of the elements from which we are all made of. The elements that brings us all together. Across cultures, and species. It’s what makes us of this Earth. Our belonging to the material world from which creation arises. From which abundance blossoms. In the simple act of giving gratitude to the air, the water, the wind, the earth, we remember the gift of this life. When we come together, gather in circles around the fire, there is an ancient whisper that takes us back into the weaving of the web. A remembering of the kinship that sustains life. An anchor within our center allowing truth to be revealed. From within to without, as above so below, we remember we are sentient beings in a great tapestry from which we weave our sacred thread into as benevolent participant. 🌿 At Jamhouse Camp, singing is at the heart of our culture, woven into the rhythm of daily life. As we co-create and tend a village for 4 days, we return to music as a way of life ~ 'cause, music is for EVERYONE ♡ We remember singing and dancing as some of humanity's oldest technologies for connection, healing, belonging and becoming. We remember ourselves as nature and as inherently creative beings 🌱 We sing to connect within, to connect with the land, with each other, with our ancestors... We sing our prayers and blessings. We sing our sadness, our joy, our hopes, our fears, our grief. We sing to celebrate, to play, and to remember the simple joy of being alive. De cara a esta conmemoración, desde la Biblioteca Nacional queremos proponer una jornada de talleres que, a través de distintas técnicas artísticas y prácticas, nos permita reflexionar y acercarnos, desde las frías montañas de Bogotá, a este ecosistema que puede parecernos lejano, pero es fundamental para nuestra vida en la Tierra. ¿Alguna vez has visto un perrito en la calle y te quedas como: “¿cómo poder ayudar?” En alianza con @stickerologist, este domingo armamos un plan bonito: parque, perritos, historias y decisiones que aportan 🐶✨ 🗓️ Domingo 24 de mayo 📍 Parque Simón Bolívar | Nos vemos en la zona canina, en el costado occidental del parque, muy cerca a la entrada de la Avenida Carrera 68. 🕙 10am–2pm Habrá estación de agua, un cuento infantil con @joho_dogs, y puntos de información con fundaciones y centros de apoyo. Ven a aprender cómo puedes ayudar y toma decisiones que impacten positivamente nuestro entorno.
