Emerging from Kyotoâs underground scene, sheeve delivers a commanding 8-track debut CD.
Built upon wall-of-sound distortion, floating vocals, and instantly arresting melodies, the record bridges the crushing dynamics of â90s alt-rock and post-hardcore (Deftones, Hum, Quicksand, Alice in Chains) with the lush, dreamlike textures of Cocteau Twins. Connecting these foundational roots to contemporary shoegaze acts like Nothing and Softcult, sheeve absorbs a rich tapestry of influences into a sharply defined identity.
A fitting continuation of LIKE A FOOL RECORDSâ legacyâalongside roster mates like Forbearâthis release brings a striking new color to the label.
Cover:
GOKURAKU (SHINONOME tattoo studio), a Kyoto-based tattoo artist.
Recording / Mixing / Mastering:
Naohiro Asakura, owner of nostos, a recording studio based in Tsu, Mie.
