//Sound Fossils for Adolescent Time Live Performance//

We invite you to join us for a text-performance, on Monday 27 July 2026 at 7 pm, at CIC in garden city. The performance features texts by artists Yumna El Sayed, Ugne Gelgotaite, Mahmoud Soliman, Aly Abdullah, Hamza Elseidy, Batool Elhennawy, and Mohamed Abdelkarim. The performance was developed in the context of a collaborative and contemplative workshop responding to the work of Federico Campagna, to create a sound fossil for the adolescents of the future; to leave behind works for a generation whose reality we can barely imagine.

“Who do we talk about, when we talk about ‘post-future subjects’, living between the apocalypse and dawn?” The concept of 'adolescence', not just as an age group, but as a transitional world standing on the verge of an uncertain future. The performance gathers various chosen standpoints, around the wall of the future, a place where we look for and towards technic and magic, striving for archetypes or structure to build through, as well as what lies beyond their categorical understanding. Perhaps here, writing becomes a measurement of time, a technic to create the world anew.

Egypt 2025 - Eunic Music Residency

Two weeks since I am back from my music residency in Cairo. It took time to diagest and realise how little I would be able to survive in a megacity like this. I‘ll rather stay a Ukrainian village girl with cosmopolitan world views.

Till yesterday I would have said that the ecology is much harder than the Egyptian political climate. But since yesterday, if I had experienced what’s happening now in Cairo, it would shock me. I am sorry for everybody who is being battled down by the military for standing for Palestine! ‚Peaceful‘ it could be, but not with the authorities.

Although Egypt is friends with ruzzia’s, it was a chance for me to raise my strong Ukrainian voice and to collaborate with like-minded. Not every travel has to end with a ‚yeaaaah‘-report. It is my privileged position to be a temporary visitor. But with each travel I get new perspectives, connections and experiences.

Exactly that is what I want to thank for! Thanks to all the people who made my stay rich and worthy. Thanks to the whole team of @ug.social ! Especially to @absturact and @mohamedelmasry99 with whom I shared the arts. Thanks to @sarahgabrhelmy for her magic moves. And huge 💓 to @einlaql @bassem.diaa @amrozidanofficial with whom I did a performance, and with whom I had very nice insight into the life of Alexandria!

Thanks to @cairojazzclub and to the @institutfrancais_egypte for creating nice evenings! And of course thanks to @eunicinegypt , @reemfouad1 and Isabella for making it possible! And to @omarmfadel and @alyalqarm for sharing these videos with us!

A huge hug 🤗 goes to my co-residents @worldmusicspirit & @hmenou with whom it was a pleasure to live.

Huge ♥️ I wanna send to @nadaahashimpxii_ for taking over the kitty, which grew into my heart very fast since we found him lonely. His life is in good hands.

Here, the show goes on. I am looking forward to what’s gonna come next.

Hugs and stay strong in tough times!

With love,
Masha
