I’ll be doing some flashbacks to some of the Miatas I’ve done over the years. This one had a lot of custom work. The front bumper was originally made for my shootingbrake Miata but this one was definitely going to be on the road before my car and why not. I bought a Porsche 911 GT3 RS bumper, made a mold and grafted it to a Miata bumper. Let’s just say the Miata and Porsche have similar wheelbases but the Porsche is easily six inches wider. @arikcrowe , the owner of the car, bought the Porsche turn signals at some amazing price like $600 each… Amazing. The front bumper also has a large vent in the upper middle as the intercooler is behind there. The hood vent is from an S14 and I made it work. The hardtop is from a mold I have, the vent in the middle was custom added and was a functioning vent not just a hole in the roof. It routed the incoming air to the driver and passenger. It is a one off part that I have no desire to ever do again unless I get the desire again lol. The trunk spoiler is also a one off part that I made just for this car. It had three different blades to control drag and 3/8” steel rods anchored to the Frankenstein bolts to keep it from flopping. The color is my custom black that is the complete car, engine bay, interior and trunk, no carpet in this car. The roll cage is color matched to the rims. As far as the engine you will have to DM @arikcrowe he built it and yes it is a Mazda 1.8 BP engine not a rotary. He made it sound like that. It is a supercharged intercooled 1.8L Miata engine and yes it did scoot. Lovely car that the @puristgroup invited to show @spocom with their cars. Truly a fun build. @stillrolla did the photos after the video. Last photo is me when the car was invited to the Supercar Shootout at Streets of Willow.

Huge shout outs to @stillrolla for making the elusive 1ZZ TRD Supercharger idler pulley bracket and assembly support bracket! These are stronger than the original ones and actually helped owners missing these rare components to finally get a chance to use the supercharger! A little wrap up of our @gridlifeofficial weekend. Went in with zero expectations, just wanted to develop some things and get a good feel for the @riactionusa 1 way dampers, get the car to work well with the @falkentire but beyond that, no expectation. After the second session, @bams_86 came to tell me we’re leading FWD and shaking up the overall, I was in disbelief. As the weekend went on, we just kept finding more speed, I will admittedly, lots of it was in me not knowing the track and learning as I went. Regardless, we kept dialing in the chassis to the tires and it felt better every time. In the last session of the weekend we found another 0.700, there was probably another 2 tenths in that lap but a driver on a cool down parked it on an apex. Then I came to find a left a lot on the braking of the bowl and was giving up speed in another corner. I’m more than happy with 1st in FWD with a lap record and 3rd pin overall is just extra for us. I’m excited to head to Laguna Seca and then come back to SoCal for a few more events. Still with no expectations, just a focus on developing the car and myself.
