SENIOR SPOTLIGHT | EDGAR CAMACHO #179

Not every rugby player grows up with a ball in their hands.

Some earn everything through hard work.

Edgar Camacho came to rugby later than most, but from the moment he joined the program, he attacked every challenge with humility, determination, and a desire to improve. Over two varsity seasons, Edgar developed into a dependable wing and center whose commitment to learning made him a trusted teammate and respected leader.

His work ethic never went unnoticed. Whether it was practice, the weight room, or match day, Edgar always gave everything he had for the badge. That dedication earned him the 2026 Daniel Garcia Leadership Award, recognizing the character and leadership he brought to St. Rita Rugby.

Next stop: St. John's University (Minnesota), where Edgar will pursue a degree in Nursing while continuing his rugby career under former USA Eagle, Director of Rugby Nate Augspurger.
Edgar, thank you for everything you've given this program. Your willingness to learn, your selfless attitude, and the example you set for those around you will leave a lasting mark on St. Rita Rugby.

Tear It Up!
