It wasnโ€™t a lightning bolt. ๐ŸŒต It was a slow, stubborn โ€œnopeโ€ to corporate life. Then a former colleague asked what I was up to, and โ€œtaking a gap yearโ€ just fell out of my mouth. It made me laugh. It felt a million percent true. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Iโ€™d been resting, traveling with Mason, exploring and getting fit, with no true next coordinates. ๐Ÿงญ The idea stuck. Then came the book idea, because surely I couldnโ€™t be the only one ready to explore whatโ€™s next with purpose. Thatโ€™s where The Gap Year Movementยฎ started. You donโ€™t need permission to pivot your life. Go explore whatโ€™s next. โœจ Wondering if you need a gap too? My free Soul-Pull Assessment is a gentle place to start. Two nunchaku books. One trains your hands. One covers the law. Nunchaku Laws is out today on Amazon, Kindle and paperback. Book 1: Nunchaku: Freestyle Flows & Combat Conditioning. My training guide, printed in full color: freestyle flows, grips, transitions, strikes, and a complete conditioning program built around the nunchaku. Book 2: Nunchaku Laws. A 50-state guide to nunchaku possession, carry, and self-defense law, plus D.C. and the U.S. territories. Before you throw a pair in your bag, know where your state stands. Turtles as a kid. Martial arts movies as a teen. Black belt with the chucks as my weapon. Now I write the books. Both are in the Nunchaku Mastery series. Link in bio, or search โ€œNunchaku Mason Martinezโ€ on Amazon. Save this. Send it to the training partner who still thinks chucks are just a movie prop. Nunchaku Laws is educational information, not legal advice. Iโ€™m not an attorney. Check your state and local laws before you carry. #nunchaku #nunchucks #martialartsbooks #nunchakumastery #bookstagram Black and yellow title slide reading "Train it. Flat on your back to standing. Then again. Then again. That is a KORSQUAT, and this is what it looks like when someone finds their rhythm on the KORBOARD in the middle of a Spartan race. Feet anchored, no hands, the whole body doing the work. Most people get one. The good ones make it look like this. Any time. Any place. No excuses. KORBOARD by STOIK Innovations. Built in North Carolina. Link in bio. #korboard #korsquat #spartanrace #homegym #functionaltraining

My favorite definition for excellence is: Excellence means commitment to completion. One of the worst things you can do for your mental health is to leave open loops or unfinished tasks take up a bunch of your mental capacity. Most people quit in their minds before they even start. Donโ€™t be most people and give yourself permission to stack the undeniable stack of evidence required to achieve anything worthwhile. You CAN figure it out. Itโ€™s all love. โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ MASSIVE shoutout to my big bro @stoikninja for always sharing the best striking and training tips and for your patience as I lost count how many times I had to drill that spinning elbow before I got a decent one ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜…Youโ€™re the GOAT king! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘‘
