POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This was the first one of these that I watched unfold in real time. Transfixed by the horror as each subsequent post came out, seeing reality perverted against my own eyes by the hour and news cycle. I thought for sure the whole thing would crumble. It deeply affected me.

I came in person to Minneapolis to the spot where Alex Pretti was murdered. Tears streamed in uncontrolled waves for me at the memorial, sometimes heavy, but slightly less at each subsequent sites: Renee Good, George Floyd and the Whipple building. A whole MN tour unfortunately. I cried not just for the deaths, which are tragedies, but for the collective response to them and the potential for change that can rise from them.

At each site I noticed that I was touched by strangers, like physically touched. Consolidating pats on the arm, friendly hand shakes, and a fist bump with Maestro the caretaker. The most profound was at the Federal building, after talking at length with one front line fighter. She explained with some confidence that the tide is in fact turning and offered a long, meaningful ‘there is hope’ hug.

It feels like it is still getting worse and there is way too much suffering. I’m more awake, more horrified, and ever so slightly more hopeful.

2nd Day Ever‼️ This ripper came to us with some prone Foil, and some wing Foil skills. He wanted to ride some backcountry waves and expand his wave riding abilities. It took a minute for him to adjust to the deep water starts behind the Jet Ski. After adjusting to the pull of the jets ski it was game on. 🎯 it’s amazing how fast a rider can progress with the right equipment, the right environment and the right instruction. The rider in this video is riding a surf 24 from Armstrong, 935 performance Mast, HA 680, 60 Fuse, 180 speed #backcountry #foil #surf

June 2025 on the Central Pacific coast of Costa Rica has been delivering incredible waves for nearly two months straight. With beautiful sunny mornings, low winds, and consistent 8 to 10-foot swells, the conditions have been perfect for foil surfing. Afternoons cool off with light rain, making the lush tropical environment even more vibrant.

In this video, we feature a rider from California who’s not only a talented prone surfer and winger but also the developer of the app stoke.log, a journal for extreme sports athletes to document their best moments. This is only his second day of tow-foil surfing with us, and he’s already riding like a pro! Using Armstrong gear and some upgraded equipment suited for local conditions, he’s absolutely crushing it. Watching his rapid progression has been amazing and truly shows how incredible the conditions are this time of year.

Come experience the magic of Costa Rica with Backcountry Foil Surfing—it’s an epic adventure you won’t want to miss! Also, check out stoke.log if you love documenting your extreme sports journey!

So here's to delicious group meals, midnight ski laps, extreme saunaing, sick ski lines, snow stability and most of all rad people. Thanks for an amazing group of humans!
