Congratulations to expat New Zealander George Norbert–Munns, the "pepper king", whose @stonygroves product has just scored a three-star award from the @guildoffinefood Great Taste Awards – the world’s most coveted food and drink awards. Recognised as a stamp of excellence and actively sought out by food lovers and retailers alike, the Great Taste awards is the world’s largest and most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme. The Dorset-based gourmet spice business – whose products are stocked at @harrods, the world's best department store – was named among the top global food and drink producers this year, picking up a highly prized 3-star Great Taste Award for its Rockfish Spice Blend. The Kiwi founder also scored four other star awards for his Nepalese Timut Pepper, Black Kampot Pepper, Citrusy Timut Rock Salt and Kampot Crab-shack Spice Blend. Of more than 15,000 entires, only 306 received a three-star award. "This truly is an enormous honour which we don't take lightly," Norbert–Munns said. Described as “a flavour bomb”, the pepper blend was a big hit with the Great Taste judges. It is made with zingy Timut pepper from Nepal and various varieties of Kampot pepper from the azure hills of Southern Cambodia. Kampot pepper is known as the finest pepper in the world; the value coming from the small scale production and labour skills. "As a pepper obsessive, I'm just so proud to champion amazing spices from these incredible countries and share them with new audiences throughout the UK," the Kiwi said. "Nothing could prepare me for being told that our Rockfish Spice Blend had won three stars. This is a huge achievement that has come after years of hard work." Originally from Christchurch, New Zealand and now living in rural Dorset with his family, the Kiwi first discovered Kampot pepper when living in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, which he called home for nearly a decade. It's lobster season @therockfishuk 🦞 ad | @therockfishuk are celebrating lobster season from Monday 6th July to Monday 31st August and you're not gonna want to miss it 🙌 We popped along to the Exmouth Rockfish to try their fresh British lobster and omg it's delicious 👌 Served whole roasted and simply cooked, you can choose between a classic garlic butter or a richer Café de Paris. We went for the classic garlic butter and it was just perfect with the beautifully cooked lobster 🦞 Love that you also get unlimited chips or salad with your main 🙌 We paired our lobster with a beautiful chardonnay wine which complemented it perfectly 👌 We also tried a couple of starters - the crisp fried tempura vegetables with ponzu sauce and the salt and pepper wild prawns and Brixham calamari with the tastiest Singapore chilli sauce I've ever tasted 🙌 As if the food isn't reason enough to visit, the restaurant itself is so gorgeous and has incredible views over Exmouth marina 🌊 We even caught the sunset from their beautiful terrace area, which you can book for a sunset supper 🌅 What a perfect way to spend a summer's evening in Devon 👌 Definitely don't miss lobster season @therockfishuk 🦞 . . . . #devon #Rockfish #seafood #lobster #foodie

What an amazing experience! Super nice evening with friends at home. We made a Burrata and @iowtomatoes salad with pressed crispy pancetta, and fresh baked malted Sourdough, followed by the scrumptious @sabrinaghayour slow cooked spiced lamb from our local butcher @peter_treble drenched in @thegayfarmer olive oil, home made pittas, fennel & orange salad, a green salad with avo, lime pickled red onions, and tzatziki. The Middle Eastern flavours were fantastic and the addition of fresh @stonygroves kampot pepper made a big difference to using dried black peppercorns. The @sip_champagnes Herbert & Co Champagne was a stunner, and let’s face it, you can’t go wrong with a Condrieu and a Borolo. Lovely evening gossiping, giggling and munching our way through tasty food! Say what?!? 🍏 Black Pepper Jelly Bean - Sour green apple jelly, paired with a 40% single origin Ghana milk chocolate and Dorset-based @stonygroves Salted Fresh Kampot Pepper ganache 💥 Now, you may furrow your brows at the sound of black pepper in chocolate… But trust us, this is black pepper like you’ve never had before. We actually snacked on a few of these peppers while watching the telly. It is THAT good! The flavour is intense in a good way. You can really taste that it’s from Cambodia. The creamy milk chocolate has balanced out the pepperiness and spice, but it has highlighted the wonderful fruity and tropical notes in the pepper. We’ve layered this with a sour green apple jelly to complete the fruity vibes in this bonbon. It’s sophisticated and complex with a dark side, much like a certain house 🐍 Curious? You can try it for yourself! Our Harry Potter themed selection for May is available for only 2 more weeks 💚 P.S. We have @stonygroves to thank for these delicious black peppers.
