Denver Day 1.5 ✅

- checked into our Airbnb in Platt Park
- had pizza 🍕 and beers 🍻 at Odell Brewing
- we were tired from our travel day, so we went to the Alamo movie theater to see John Wilson’s “The History of Concrete”
- we ended the night with cocktails at Good Luck Club and felt ancient amongst the Gen Z crowd who were for some reason trying to dress Y2K, but really missing the mark. 🤫🤪😂
- we had to try a Duffeyroll the next morning. “It’s a Colorado thing,” apparently.
- we meandered our way through the South Pearl Street Farmers’ Market, making stops at @secondstartotherightbooks and the most beautiful metaphysical shop, @confiacollective
- before brunch, we stopped at @okageneralstore for some Japanese stationery. Their vintage denim was also gorgeous.
- nutritious rainbow meal at @stowawaydnvr
- the most incredible curated collection of books and letterpress goods at @shopatmatter
- Colorado Springs for Garden of the Gods 😭😭😭💫
- a spiritual experience for dinner at @mezcaleriaalma (our waitress was from Wisconsin and we had the best time chatting + she recommended the most amazing dishes & cocktails!)
- the restaurant is inspired by Mexico City and I was equally obsessed with the decor as the food
- our nightly ritual for the past month is to watch an ep of Star Trek Next Gen & that routine has continued on vacation 🛸

What I’ve been up to in Denver, Colorado this past week 🍂

I had a work trip in Texas and figured: why not jump over to one of my happy places before heading back East?

Visiting Denver in the fall is just amazing— the temperatures are still warm but not too hot, and the yellow aspens are just incredible.

Always a blast visiting my people, even though I didn’t have much time this trip (thx work) to see many of them. Be back soon!

Menu Item: Colorful Colorado - I love how the plating and name of the dish foreshadows what the flavors will be like. Lots of great harmony between the ingredients and it’s a fulfilling dish.

Also: get their karaage chicken, so juicy and crispy!!!

Menu Item: Toasted Coconut Snowcloud - This always sells out by the end of the day and for good reason! Not too sweet but satisfies your dessert cravings like crazy! You need to try it to believe it.

Also: get their creme brulee mille crepe cake slice = 11/10!

Menu Item: Sausage & Cheese Biscuit - Bruh one of my fav breakfast sandwiches in the city and one of my top fav bakeries. Simple but you can really taste the good quality and the love they put into the ingredients. Love the crispy biscuit.

Also: get their maritozzi, egg scramble sandwich, pizza and literally EVERYTHING pastry wise.

Menu Item: Bun Bo Hue - I used to be a Pho girly but then I tried this noodle soup AND I CAN NEVER GO BACK. They really nailed their broth, wasn’t too spicy, and loved how refreshing but rich in flavor this dish was overall. Beef rib was tender and juicy.

Also: you MUST try their banh beo w/ pork rinds!

Menu Item: Strawberry Rhubarb French Toast - Top 3 fav breakfast spots! I thought French toasts were basic until now. WOW loved how the whipped vanilla cream cheese cut through the tart of the strawberries and it didn’t make the bread soggy, toast was crispy and loved the pistachio toppings.

Also: ANIMAL STYLE HASHBROWNS, BEAT BOBBY FLAY-VOS, FOXY BURRITO !!!!!!!

Menu Item: Everything… I can’t believe I only discovered this ice cream shop now. Little Man is overrated. Go here instead! Rich quality, truly. I prefer their pints as they have neat flavor and topping combinations. I especially love their caramel sauce that they add into their ice cream.

Also: THEIR SMASHBURGERS ARE BOMBBBBBB! 🍔🍔🍔
