I found this attached to a fence in the woods. Thank you to whoever left it. Herne’s Arrow is a significant ancient English artefact.
Described by Gildas the monk, but many centuries older than that. Also known as the “Silver Arrow”, it was the secret symbol of pre-Christian Albion and is linked to the mystical figure of Herne the Hunter and Cernunnos.
A sacred totem, the arrow represents the ancient, pagan spirit of England or Albion as it was then known. It is a source of power and a symbol of authority from Herne the Hunter, the antlered spirit of the forest.
The Silver Arrow is also entwined within the legend of Robin Hood. And it said that somewhere, deep in ancient Sherwood.
The arrow still resides.
In the tradition of the ancient Greenwood and the bounty that the forest always has to offer. Please accept this gift and carry with you that once proud and powertul secret symbol and spirit of ancient England.
May it bring you luck, health and prosperity.
