I’m 2 months sober! Tomorrow.

Technically 62 days is tomorrow, but I work both jobs back to back so I’m not gonna have time/ remember to commemorate it.

This last month I have embodied, “idle hands are the devil’s workshop.” I’ve kept a packed schedule, created stuff, cooked lots, worked and worked, I’ve celebrated my friends birthdays and kicking cancer ass, getting Aaron moved because he bought a house (soon to be ours 🥰‼️) Drank so much coffee, developed a ferocious sweet tooth, I’ve laughed and laughed, I’ve deepened relationships, been reminded I can’t do it all myself, ripped pokemon packs, pierced my septum, learned some cool things, went to the movies, honed skills, held my friends hands, showed up for people, became a morning person (still hate it, but I’m here) I successfully decentered alcohol from my livelihood, recognized spaces and habits that don’t suit me, I battled fomo a lot, I practiced gratitude, made people smile, I petted lots of cats.

I was telling Aaron the other day I feel like I’ve done more in the past 2 months, than the previous 6. It’s incredible the amount of time, energy, and funds booze steals.

Sobriety delivers the joy alcohol promises; this what building a life I don’t want to be numb for looks like.

Thank you again to all the incredible people in my corner always cheering me on. I can’t say I love you in a way that’s big enough to encompass what I feel for you all. I’m so humbled every day by how lucky I am.

I’m so geeked to be here.

Spring 🌬️

It’s been a season on collecting. Collecting thoughts, ideas + inspiration, patience … and honing in on routines. The routines I can catch, anyway.

It felt scattered, certainly not my most comfortable place to be. Micro, fleeting direction that left me feeling grounded for mere moments, and then quickly zooming to the next thing.

But, maybe it’s leading to a wholeness I can’t quite see yet, but I can feel 🌱 … and that’s exciting.

👨‍🎨 A community art project comes to life

After savoring the beautiful Bevy Luncheon menu by @strega_party this Saturday - we invite you to create a collective collage together.

Guests are invited to leave their artistic mark using vintage + current magazines, fabric, ribbon, acrylic markers, and textured paper.

Your creative POV matters, and we can’t wait to watch this piece evolve throughout the day.

Once complete, the collage will be displayed in the shop this summer for all to experience. 🖼️

✨Partner Spotlight✨

For Candlemas, I was inspired by the idea of creating a cozy, wintertime provisions board to enjoy with a warm beverage and one of our baked goods, or as a standalone snack plate.

The Provisions board contained a fluffy Sourdough English Muffin by our resident bread supplier @heritagebreadcompany . I am not exaggerating when I say the English muffin was IT! The perfect anchor for the board’s many accompaniments. 🍞

I provided the spreads and small bites; a festive Cranberry and Winter Citrus Butter, Pickled Bosc Pears spiced with pink peppercorns, anise, and honey, Carrots and Parsnips pickled with rosemary, garlic, and fresh ginger, and finally a Carrot Cake Marmalade warmed with cinnamon and cardamom, sweetened with honeycrisp apples, and brightened with lots of lemon. 🥕 🍎

Completing the board was another offering from one of our OG partners, a Double Cream Gouda sourced from @cantonimporting . A rich and creamy, yet mild flavor cheese that felt hearty and substantial to compliment the punchy pickles and marmalade. 🧀

What I loved most about this offering was the collaboration within the dish itself. I’m so grateful to have the group we’ve created at Strega. Feeling very lucky! 💞

For Jani’s offerings, check her stories on Monday’s for her weekly menu, with pre-orders available M-W for a Friday pick-up at the bread shed. Her bread can also be found weekly at Canton Importing. 🧺

Visit Canton Importing M-F 9am to 5pm, and Saturdays 9am-3pm. 🛒
