![There’s something about **Kolkata, food and adda** that just hits differently. ❤️
Recently attended the launch of @strictly.delicious by @deba.piano , and surprisingly, this was my first proper Bengali adda session centred entirely around FOOD!
From Kolkata’s evolving café culture and new-age cafés to the legendary old eateries we’ve grown up with — the conversation was full of food memories, nostalgia and stories about the changing vibe of the city.
Debaditya Sir and Chandril Da made the adda even more fun and engaging. Hearing their food memories was a treat in itself! The panel also had @ritabhari_chakraborty , @aroyfloyd and @riddhi_sen_ each bringing their own stories and connection with Kolkata and its food.
A special mention to the legendary @trincasrestaurant and @anandpuri_is for the wonderful hospitality, and to @d.patwari_3 — always so welcoming and continuously doing some amazing work on ground. ❤️
And of course, meeting my fellow foodie friends @flywithanubhav @foodzpah and many more pic missing🙈made it even better. Somehow, catching up over food, conversations and laughter always lightens the mood.
Flipping through the book, I realised I’ve already experienced so many of the places featured in the book — and now I’m looking forward to discovering the ones I haven’t!
What makes the book even more meaningful is its purpose — proceeds from its sale are intended to support smaller food establishments. So it’s not just documenting Kolkata’s food culture, but also giving back to the people who keep it alive.
Restaurants may change, cafés may come and go, but Kolkata will always have stories to tell over a plate of food and a good adda. ❤️
As someone who documents food for learning, this was one adda I’m really glad I got to be a part of.
