This was such a hard decision to make, but it was one that had to be done. Sip & Sew Encinitas is officially entering a new chapter!

We’re moving from Encinitas, California to Vero Beach, Florida! While this means things will look a little different, this is NOT the end of Sip & Sew. If anything, it’s the beginning of even more growth!

I’ll be bringing Sip & Sew to Florida and hosting workshops there, while my amazing sewing partner Bella helps keep the Sip & Sew community growing right here in California.

We’re so grateful for every single person who has attended a workshop, learned something new, laughed with us, and supported this little sewing community we’ve built. You’ve truly made Sip & Sew what it is today.

And just because we’re growing and changing locations doesn’t mean we’re going anywhere! We’re also making it a point to share more online sewing tips, tricks, and resources to help you succeed throughout your sewing journey.

But before we say goodbye to this chapter in Encinitas...

Join us for our LAST summer workshop, on 9/19. We will take a short break after this to plan for winter sessions with @stringtheorycollaborative

Come sew with us, upcycle something beautiful, and celebrate this next chapter of Sip & Sew! We would LOVE to see our California sewing community one more time before the move.

Comment “SEW” and I’ll send you the link to RSVP.

The burning question every sewist is asking!!!

This weekend, I finally made it out to the LA Fashion District and it did not disappoint! Ever since Joann’s closed, I’ve honestly been a mess lol. It’s so hard for me to shop for fabric online because I need to feel the texture, see the drape, and actually see the color in person. There’s just something about being able to touch the fabric that makes all the difference.

Here are my top 3 in-person fabric shopping spots in SoCal 💗

LA Fashion District: If you’re willing to make the drive, there are SO many options. Definitely worth exploring!

National City Swap Meet: If you’re further south, this is a hidden gem! There are quite a few fabric vendors, with poly blends and some natural fibers ranging around $3 - $8 per yard

@fringefabrics_sd : One of my favorites in San Diego! I recently picked up a gorgeous viscose from them. They specialize in high-quality natural fibers and have some really beautiful options.

I would love to know where you all have been shopping?

Curious about what’s next? September is packed with our two FINAL sessions of Upcycling. This topic has sold out 3x in a row so we thought to host it one more time for SD and North County! Comment “SEW” and I’ll send you more info + RSVP links for our classes. Don’t forget to register by the end of this week to lock in early-bird pricing.

A few snippets from our final kid’s clothing session! Thank you @fringefabrics_sd for hosting us! It was so wonderful to see new faces in class. 4 lovely people left with completed kid’s sets! If you missed this class, don’t worry! I’m offering private lessons 9/5, 9/6 and 9/7 for those who want 1:1 time to create a kid’s set or just about any other project. We are also hosting 2 final upcycling sessions on 9/5 and 9/12!!

Our newest instructor, Bella, is going to take the lead on 9/5! You don’t want to miss out on that session!

Comment “SEW” for RSVP links + early-bird pricing which ends this weekend.

This was one of our biggest weekend’s EVER! We had 10 of you that joined our Sunday workshop sessions. We also had 6 ladies join on Saturday for upcycling. Thank you so much to all of you!! This was a packed yet fun weekend. It was such a joy to see the smiles on everyone’s faces when they finished their projects. A huge thank you to @stringtheorycollaborative for volunteering to help with class. It was so fun getting to collab with you!

We only have 1 seat left for our last summer workshop. The RSVP form is linked in my bio. You don’t want to miss this one. We will be taking a short workshop break from July-August. In the meantime, we are offering a small amount of private lessons for the first two weeks of July. Spots are first come, first serve. DM me to secure yours.

If you’re seeking a creative community, @stringtheorycollaborative and I are hosting a Sip & Swap next Sunday which is totally free to join. Our goal is to promote community with this event and make new friends. Please comment “JOIN” and I’ll send you an RSVP link for Sunday with more details!! I can’t wait to see you all next weekend.

P.S. @sipnseacoffee generously sponsored our workshop by gifting 10 drinks and açaí bowls for our students to enjoy. Make sure you try their chunky monkey smoothie next time you’re near their location. Thank you again @sipnseacoffee
