One of the biggest challenges of training in Miami isn’t the running itself it’s staying hydrated.

The combination of heat and humidity can make hydration and recovery just as important as the workout.

Over the last few months, we’ve made it a habit to bring cold water, sports drinks, and fruit to our long runs and track sessions. It’s a simple thing, but after a hard workout, it makes a huge difference.

Lately we’ve been using the @travoca.us cooler to keep everything cold and ready, even during some of the hottest mornings of the year. What I like most is that it has become part of the routine without getting in the way load it up before the run, and when everyone finishes, hydration is ready to go.

Small details can make training more enjoyable, especially during the Miami summer.

How do you stay hydrated during your summer runs?
