POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I told my husband I was bringing home a little Italian lingerie. Technically, I wasn’t lying. 😉

This charming little Italian lingerie chest is my latest find from @mulberryandsecond, a vintage and pre-owned contemporary furniture gallery here in Chattanooga. Jennifer has an incredible eye and is an invaluable resource for interior designers. Her showroom also happens to be in our Northshore building, The DaMarti. A dangerously convenient arrangement for someone with a weakness for beautiful old things! By appointment only.

And speaking of my husband… three of the pieces hanging above the chest are by my favorite in-house artist, @nick_mansito He also happens to be featured in this month’s @stroll_riverview magazine.

Swipe to get a closer look at the art. Italian antiques, original art, and a talented husband. Not a bad little corner. 🤎

Who knew breaking my leg would be the thing that put my life back together? 💙

Two years ago today, I broke my leg in THREE places. Because apparently Hurricane Harple needed a BIG reminder to SLOW DOWN. 🤦🏼‍♀️

For the first time, life forced me to be still. And somewhere in that silence, I found ME again.

That unexpected pause led me back to publishing, brought @stroll_riverview to life, and helped me fall in love with myself and life all over again.

Sometimes what feels like life falling apart is actually life falling into place.

So if you’re facing a setback, don’t count yourself out. Your next chapter might be your BEST one yet!

Two years ago, I thought I was losing my momentum.

Turns out, I was finding my direction. 💙✨

That feeling you get when you’re publishing your favorite place’s stories in print... and you earn a living doing it!

Some people put wallpaper on walls. Adorable.

We sent it straight to the ceiling, added a chandelier with excellent judgment, and called it a dining room.

Is wallpaper on the ceiling excessive? Possibly.
Is a blank ceiling a wasted opportunity? Absolutely.

Restraint has its place. This just wasn’t it.

Ceiling wallpaper: yes or absolutely yes?

STEAK OR CHICKEN, JOHN? 🥩😂

I won a Blackstone, but this one was never really for me.

I’m grateful to work alongside a company that celebrates hard work, connection, and collaboration. And I’m even more grateful for John, who works incredibly hard for our family and has wanted a Blackstone forever.

October feels like the perfect reminder that the best rewards are the ones we get to share.

Grateful for this work. Grateful for this life. Grateful for my people.

Now, John… steak or chicken? 😂

THIS is what Teaching soil. Growing food. Building futures. looks like.

This morning, our 4th graders at Hardy Elementary went from garden to harvest getting their hands in the soil, identifying what they’ve grown and taking fresh food straight from the beds.

And judging by those smiles… I think they were pretty proud of their harvest.

This is why SEED Chattanooga exists: giving young people opportunities to learn by doing, grow with confidence and understand where their food comes from.

Today was a good morning in the garden.

Teaching soil. Growing food. Building futures.

This room started as a grey box. Which was… fine. Technically.

But “fine” was never really the assignment.

So we wrapped the room in custom cabinetry, took the color all the way up and over the ceiling, added a velvet sofa, a sculptural light fixture, books, art, family pieces, and enough personality to make the original grey box basically unrecognizable.

Now it’s moody, cozy, collected, and exactly the kind of room that makes you want to cancel your plans and stay home with a book.

It’s deadline day. But deadline day doesn’t stop hurricanes. 🌪️✈️

Chicago bound for a work conference with Stroll Riverview in hand, laptop nearby, phone probably at 12% and approximately 47 things happening at once.

Because apparently we don’t just meet deadlines around here.

We take them on the road.

Magazine closing. Conference calling. Connections waiting to be made.

Hurricane Harple is officially in flight. Chicago, here I come.
