Bristol's Strongest 2026

Completed it mate ✅

Another incredible year. 50+ Athletes, over 200 people in the venue!

£385 raised for charity.

A massive thank you to everyone who competed, supported and crewed.

It wouldn't be possible without all of you, hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did.

I told my wife, family and friends that this year would be the last one. The mental load of organising something like this, and the physical demand across 3 days is brutal.

But seeing the amount of thank you posts and messages I've had in the last 48hrs really makes me re-consider.

Drop a 💪🏻 and a comment below if you think I should reconsider..... 👀👀

‼️ ONE WEEK OUT 👀‼️

Here are all the important things you need to know:

⏰ - Athlete sign in from 9am. Sign in will be located in the bar area. Competitors please arrive promptly, there will be a waiver / disclaimer to sign & a goodie bag to collect along with your t shirt 👕🛍️

📢- Safety briefing will be at 9:40am - All competitors MUST be present. If you are not here for the safety briefing you cannot compete‼️

🏁 First event will start at 10am - We will give everyone chance to warm up before & then it’s go time 💪🏼

📍Just to confirm the location is Hamfields Leisure, Berkeley, GL13 9TN (NOT at Next Level!!)

🚗 ATHLETES- as you come through the main gates, please follow the road all the way round the back of the building, there will be someone there to show you where to park. We are asking where possible athletes & spectators to travel together to minimise overall traffic volume ⚠️

🚙 SPECTATORS - if arriving separately, then park on the left hand side as you come through the gate.

❓Any questions about anything please just ask! We can’t wait to see everyone bring their best for The Shires Strongest debut 🔥🥳

Usually, I would just opt for a quick sand and repaint, however this staircase was truly vile. the paint was so thick that you would leave finger prints in it and it felt sticky to touch. It had to go.

I stripped one or two layers off and could have carried on like that however the yellow tinge in the older layer made me want to check what we were dealing with. As suspected that layer underneath was lead which means heating, scraping and sanding were off the table.

I was actually quite excited about doing this.. but now I'm expecting I was promptly ordered out of the house for the weekend so Mr B could take charge of project stairs (much to his dismay).

Not 💯 done yet but an amazing improvement, a little more prep and painting can commence!

The house is by no means finished, however this is the first time we've had a tree or any decs up for that matter and it feels like a mile stone.

Today I hosted the first Christmas event of the year and I'm feeling incredibly proud of what we've achieved so far. Not even storm Darragh could put a dampener on it!

‼️ Event update‼️

After much consideration we have decided to change the 5th event at Bristols strongest 2025 to sandbag to shoulder rather than natural stone to shoulder.

All weights remain the same as our previous post👍🏼
