The three children and one teacher killed in the horrific shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School deserved to come home alive. Honor them by reading and sharing their stories. Give the shooter #NoNotoriety.

Rhoam Summer was a bright student and adored by his loved ones. A family friend said “there are no words that can ease the pain” of this “heartbreaking loss.” Rhoam was five years old, and he had just started kindergarten at Silver Rail last month.

Megan Lambert was a beloved daughter, sister, friend, and teacher at Silver Rail Elementary School. Loved ones say she was “compassionate and had a huge heart. She always fought for the underdog and those with special needs.” Megan was 25 years old, and this was her first teaching job.

The other two children killed were an 8-year-old boy and an 11-year-old boy. Both their families are asking for privacy during this difficult time.

We refuse to accept constant grief and fear as our normal. We should not have to mourn children stolen by preventable school shootings. In honor of the victims, the two wounded survivors, and the entire community impacted by this terrifying shooting, we continue our work to #EndGunViolence.

Senate Bill 50 is sitting in the veto garage waiting for election day to pass, and voters to forget about it.

If overridden, it would allow virtually ANYONE over the age of 18 to carry in NC without a permit or classes.

Just one legislative seat makes the difference between this bill becoming law. The North Carolina State Supreme Court could also decide on constitutional carry in future sessions.

Voting is not going to fix everything, and it’s not going to bring back those lost to this senseless violence. But it can be the difference between how easy it is to conceal in NC #ncpol
