Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart is a 126-bed facility that serves as the only children’s hospital in Northwest Florida.

🍼September was NICU Awareness month. This past September, SCI partnered with Build-a-Brain to host our first ever Parent Reading Session at the Studer Family Children’s Hospital Level 3 NICU.
📚Paige Marcin and Stephanie Montgomery modeled how families can read to their babies while they are in the NICU.
By giving parents and families the tools to nurture early brain development, accelerate reading readiness, and bond with their babies, this group creates an opportunity to make memories that will last a lifetime.

FOR HER. RIGHT HERE.

For the women we know and the community we call home.
She is a mother. A daughter. A sister. A wife. A friend.
And when cancer touches her life, it touches the lives of everyone who loves her, too.

This October, Sacred Heart Foundation is bringing our community together to support women receiving cancer care at Sacred Heart Cancer Center.

Because exceptional care, compassion and meaningful support should be available close to the people and place she calls home.

Give where you live.
Give for her.
Right here.

🐻 TODAY is National Teddy Bear Day! 🧸

And we can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by sending a little love to a child who could really use a hug. ❤️

Jen McKeown of @reliancemortgageloans knows that a teddy bear is never just a teddy bear.

It’s a hug when Mom or Dad can’t be there.
A friend when the hospital room feels unfamiliar.
A snuggle buddy for the tough moments.
And a little reminder that someone is thinking about you.

For a child facing cancer or illness, that soft, furry friend can bring comfort and courage.

The Ascension Sacred Heart Foundation invites our community to join Jen in filling the pediatric rooms at @studerchildrens with more smiles and plenty of bear hugs. 🧸❤️

Sometimes comfort comes in the form of a good book.

And sometimes, it comes with a soft, cuddly friend to hold onto when everything else feels unfamiliar. 🧸❤️

Friday, Mayor D.C. Reeves visited Studer Family Children’s Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart to celebrate National Read a Book Day, spending time reading to pediatric patients and bringing along a bag full of stuffies and teddy bears in recognition of National Teddy Bear Day on September 9.

Because a teddy bear is never just a teddy bear.

🧸 It can be a hug when Mom or Dad has to step out of the room.

🧸 It can be a friend during a long night in the hospital.

🧸 It can bring a little piece of home to an unfamiliar place.

🧸 And it can remind a child that someone, somewhere, is thinking about them.

That kind of comfort matters every day, but especially during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, when we’re reminded of the courage of children facing cancer and other serious illnesses, and the families walking beside them.

You can help send a little comfort, too. 🧸

Through the Ascension Sacred Heart Foundation’s Amazon Wish List, you can order a stuffie or teddy bear and have it delivered directly to Studer Family Children’s Hospital.

Your gift can become a companion, a cuddle and a little moment of happiness for a child who could really use one.

👉 Send a stuffie or teddy bear here or at link in bio: https://amzn.to/4iEUr90

It may be a small gift, but to a child in a hospital bed, it means comfort, connection and the feeling that they are not alone. 🐻❤️

🐻 Send a Pediatric Patient a Teddy Bear and Comfort at the Same Time!🧸

Nicole Stacey, Visit Pensacola’s VP of Destination Development knows a teddy bear is never just a teddy bear.

It’s a hug when Mom or Dad can’t be there.

A friend when the room feels unfamiliar.

A little piece of home in a hospital bed.

And a comforting reminder to our tiny patients that they are loved and never alone.

For a child facing cancer, illness, or a difficult day, that soft, furry friend can bring comfort and courage when they need it most.

That’s why the Ascension Sacred Heart Foundation is celebrating National Teddy Bear Day.

They need our help to fill pediatric hospital rooms with a little more comfort, a lot more smiles and plenty of snuggles. ❤️

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and as we approach National Teddy Bear Day on September 9, you have the opportunity to make a difference for a child right here in our community.

For a child going through something no child should have to face, that little bear might mean more than we’ll ever know. 🐻❤️
