Shoutout @davidfilmmaker for using awesome gear!✌🏻This is an EF Mount Body Cap for Canon, and I wanted to start with this shot specifically because words can’t really explain the quality here. The way it snaps into place like a regular lens feels so confident and brilliant. It’s readable with engraved markings for easy on and equally equipped for removal. The oversize is perfect, and can be gripped either by stippled edge, by the cut out centers or by both!

Hey guys! Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that I’m going to be doing something a little different tomorrow.

I’ve put together a mini lesson for how I achieved certain aspects of the shot, from start to finish. It will focus more on an overall technique then diving to the depths of post, and is a great place where most everyone in the watch game can start.

As a bonus I’m also including an HD Wallpaper as a FREE download in various sizes and formats from Desktop to Smartphone that is an exact copy of the Final Post. So many watch/print projects in the works during such a grueling month, but I’ve managed my first foray into printing on a non-traditional material. The first Studio Austin Throw Pillow, “Perspectives” made out of High Quality Suede.

Many have reached out recently regarding my images and the process or workflow I use to achieve those results. This is one of the reasons I do what I do for every image. Not only is the quality the best it can be, but it also makes transfer between mediums flawless. This photo was never shot with the intention of ending up on suede, yet it still looks destined as if it were meant to. (While it can still be traditional print, that’s the beauty..)

The initial reason I went down such a large rabbit hole was to learn how to large format print on my own. I’ve learned that these techniques not only help and prep me for the printing process, but also render photos the highest quality for Instagram and Web upload. It’s been wonderful learning, and a double win. I can’t wait to share that with all of you!

As things calm down, I will start work teaching the skills I’ve learned in a series of short and easy to follow lessons.
