A first glimpse at Covent Garden 🧡 the night before we open officially.

We gave @studio_otherside a Victorian listed building in the heart of Theatreland and asked them to make somewhere that feels warm, homely and distinctly Bubala the moment you walk in.

They kept the arches and the old brickwork, laid terracotta underfoot, ran reclaimed timber across the ceilings and opened the kitchen up so the pass sits in full view of the dining room.

Plates stacked on open shelves, bentwood chairs, our classic green tiles and soft light everywhere.

Doors to our new home officially open tomorrow.

INTRODUCING: Sam Dagger, who heads up all things design, builds, and sustainability at Blacklock, and gave us a sneak peak of what will soon be Blacklock Birmingham.

Other Side embodies Middle Eastern hospitality at Bubala King’s Cross | Yiddish for ‘darling’, well-loved restaurant @bubala_london opens its largest site yet, with warm, thoughtful interiors by @studio_otherside extending an open invitation to gather, share and savour.

Employing a palette of uncomplicated, hand-crafted materials, the new King's Cross location embodies an ethos of communal hospitality, with a double-height dining room softened by jute blinds, draped curtains and bespoke tiling.

Win dinner for two at @bubala_london King’s Cross - one of London’s most talked-about new restaurants.

We made the richly-grained wooden tables from repurposed London plane and elm for Bubala King’s Cross – the third Middle Eastern vegetarian spot from the team behind the much-loved restaurants in Shoreditch and Soho.

It’s a gorgeous space that blends warmth, texture and sustainability. The London plane came from trees felled across the capital; the elm from Brighton, lost to Dutch Elm Disease and now given a second life.

To celebrate, we’re giving away 2 Bubala Knows Best set menus and a bottle of wine hand-picked by the team.
