Studio Child’s production of GHOSTCREATOR, written by Karina Pooran Majewski and directed by James T. Majewski, is currently on stage through August 23 at UNDER St Marks as part of FRIGID New York’s 2026 Little Shakespeare Festival. Invoking the ghost in Hamlet as a touchstone, GHOSTCREATOR is a blend of heightened, poetic text with occasional song and physical performance, consistent with Studio Child's experimental practice. Astute audiences will catch frequent textual allusions to Hamlet, while others with a deeper familiarity with Shakespeare's play will recognize thematic overlap in themes of longing, death, and metaphysical inquiry. The performance is ritualistic and poetic, with striking imagery and visceral moments. It's a work one can get lost in, that defies easy classification, but that nonetheless conveys a strong theatrical experience. PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE: Sunday, August 9 @ 7:00pm Saturday, August 15 @ 9:00pm Thursday, August 20 @ 9:00pm Sunday, August 23 @ 7:00pm Tickets range from $20 to $25, and are available online at https://frigid.nyc/festivals/little-shakespeare/. UNDER St Marks is located at 94 St. Mark’s Place in the East Village. @StageSpotlightNYC is the most comprehensive list of theatre and theatre-adjacent performances taking place all over New York City — OFF BROADWAY & BEYOND. Thank you to everyone who came to the opening performance of @studiochildnyc's “Ghostcreator” at FRIGID New York's Little Shakespeare Festival last week. You only have three more chances to see this haunting theatrical event! “Ghostcreator” is a laboratory creation of Studio Child, the resident acting studio of Arthouse2B. It premiered in May 2026, and is being remounted this month at Under St. Mark’s Theater as part of FRIGID NY’s Little Shakespeare Festival. Cindy Hernandez Mathis recently wrote about her experience seeing the first iteration of the play back in May for Cracks in Postmodernity: “The ghost that haunts Hamlet, his father of the same name, disappears as soon as the cock crows in his first appearance in Shakespeare's play. A prophecy is fulfilled in that moment, or rather a truth unveiled. The ghost cannot be seen in the light of day. It tells us what it is, and where it remains: purgatory. It's in the despair of what cannot yet be seen that we find ourselves in Ghostcreator, the latest play by Karina Pooran Majewski. This same ghost, whether materialized as an onstage presence, a voice recording whispering behind curtains upon curtains, or some other entity that is captured in the mysticism of theatre, is given a voice to air its suffering. Rather than giving advice, or asking people to perform a seance to bring it to life, it lays where it must be for the sanctity of its salvation.” Don't miss your last three chances to see this show!! Tickets available at the link in our bio or at tinyurl.com/frigidghost When: Saturday, August 15 at 9pm Thursday, August 20th at 9pm Sunday, August 23rd at 7pm Where: Under St. Mark’s Theater 94 St. Mark’s Place New York, NY 10009

💫✨GHOSTCREATOR returns!✨💫 Didn’t get a chance to see the premiere of Studio Child’s Ghostcreator earlier this year? Or are you looking forward to a chance to dive deeper into this haunting and compelling new work? Either way, grab your tickets for Ghostcreator at FRIGID New York’s Little Shakespeare Festival! The theme this year is ShakesPUNK, and our resident acting studio is slated for four performances of their radical, subversive “pean to the Mystical in the theatre, with echoes of Hamlet’s ghost”. Invoking the ghost in Hamlet as a touchstone, Ghostcreator is a blend of heightened, poetic text with occasional song and physical performance, consistent with Studio Child’s experimental practice. Astute audiences will catch frequent textual allusions to Hamlet, while others with a deeper familiarity with Shakespeare’s play will recognize thematic overlap in themes of longing, death, and metaphysical inquiry. We hope to see you there! When: Sunday, August 9th at 7pm Saturday, August 15 at 9pm Thursday, August 20th at 9pm Sunday, August 23rd at 7pm Where: Under St. Mark’s Theater 94 St. Mark’s Place New York, NY 10009 Arthouse2B is not affiliated with, sponsoring, or presenting the Little Shakespeare Festival. While our resident acting studio is participating, the festival is organized and operated solely by FRIGID New York.

Thank you to everyone who came to Studio Child's GHOSTCREATOR last month. Audiences were spellbound by the striking new work of our resident acting studio. The daring experimental play was developed in a laboratory setting with Studio members Lydia Brinkmann, Sharbel Habchy, Vincenzo Hinckley, James Majewski, Karina Majewski, and Peter Murphy. It was written by Karina Majewski and directed by James Majewski. Drawing inspiration from Hamlet, the Veni Creator Spiritus prayer, and from vocal and physical improvisations, "ghostcreator" offered a haunting study on the power of the mystical in the theater. We are grateful to all the audience members who attended, and who engaged in lively discussions about the play and the process of the Studio after the shows. One audience member, Molly Lewis, shared her experience of the performance: "'ghostcreator' was an experience for me to gain and take with me upon leaving the performance. I arrived tired with life’s cares and left having experienced the transcendent. I was reminded as a human, I am continually given moments of grace, and in my weakness I can always call upon the Creator Spirit and experience God living and reigning in my soul. The presence of the actors, the lighting and the beautiful writing has reminded me God is with us and there is always a light to be found in the darkness if one only looks and chooses it." We can't wait to see what Studio Child has in store for us next. Stay tuned!

"To 'wright' a play is to build the vessel for a theatrical experience," expressed playwright and performer Karina Majewski. "The words in this piece serve a purpose beyond traditional storytelling. The actors crew the vessel and the director captains it, and the rest of us, hopefully, are taken on the voyage." Tonight is the night! GHOSTCREATOR premieres at 8pm at The Chapel at Holy Family-St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Tickets are $25 in advance -- buy before 7pm to save. The box office will open at 7:30pm and the performance will begin at 8pm. featuring Lydia Brinkmann Sharbel Habchy Vincenzo Hinckley James Majewski Karina Majewski Peter Murphy Grab your tickets at the link in our bio! This weekend GHOSTCREATOR, the latest theatrical creation by Studio Child (@studiochild.nyc) premieres at The Chapel at Holy Family-St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Park Slope. Although the name is new, Arthouse2B has been proud to be a part of the compelling production history of the artists behind Studio Child since 2021. Over the years they have presented such varied works as a new adaptation of St. John Paul II’s “The Jeweler’s Shop”, a musical hagiography of Saint Lucy, and a post-modern marriage myth in “Arranged”. “Work on ghostcreator has taken the Studio even further afield of what we’ve done in the past,” reflects director James T. Majewski. “We’re in outer space with this one. It’s a piece born of questions, genuine questions, about the nature of theater and its relationship to audiences, and of experiments that only the Studio’s laboratory experience could afford. But experimentation involves risk of failure, of one’s hypothesis being falsified. Audiences will take part in ghostcreator’s final experiment and, I hope, an extraordinary theatrical experience.” Don’t miss your chance to see this exciting original performance. Featuring: @lydia.nbrinkmann @sharbel_habchy @vinstagramenator @jamestmajewski @karinapmajewski @peteremurphy When: May 22nd and 23rd Doors open 7:30pm Performance begins 8pm Tickets: $25/ticket online (online sales end at 7pm on day of performance) $30/ticket at the door Where: The Chapel Holy Family-St. Thomas Aquinas 249 9th Street (Entrance on 4th Ave between 8th & 9th St) Brooklyn, NY 11215 Photos by Karina Majewski, Elena Castello, Taylor Valentine, and Sean McCullough.

On February 19th, Studio Child shared a special gallery performance to celebrate the closing of Arrival: an exhibition of work by artist Richard K. Stephens at The Brooklyn Anchor. Led by director and performer James T. Majewski, the performance featured excerpts from Paul Claudel’s Third Great Ode, Magnificat, as well as original text by Karina Majewski which reflected on the paintings in the show. The piece was performed by James & Karina Majewski, and Peter Murphy. Photos by Sean McCullough.
