💋 New York, New York 💋 We are thrilled to return to Public Records after our debut there last summer with Discostan and Friends. This time, we’re coming in hot with a dynamic lineup direct from L.A. Alongside your residents, Tehrangeles’s legendary sonic storyteller Omid Walizadeh joins us for a rare east coast appearance, and rounding out the night is the brilliant Mansaf Mama with her signature shaabi sound. More surprises in store. See you on the dance floor on November 19. Ticket link in bio. 💋 Stunning artwork by @studioharamat Discostan is an imaginary, borderless nation for the SWANA and South Asian diaspora — a party, label and radio residency built around the conviction that sound permeates barriers that nothing else can. Over fifteen years, it’s helped shape cultural infrastructure for communities on the margins near and far, holding golden-age archives and forward-facing producers in the same space, the nightclub reworked as a site for rewriting inherited histories. Migration, conflict, homeland, celebration: the threads run through traditional forms and their kaleidoscopic reinvention alike, often within Islamicate influence. The sound of Discostan is ever-evolving and brings together the worlds of the cinema and the street. Join us for a deep dive into a sonic history of our favorites from Subcontinental disco and Chaabi floorfillers to Safavid bass and late-night Dabke, connected by searing club productions from our favorite diasporic producers. Expect a polyrhythmic journey of 60-160bpm all in the space of one night, on one dance floor, to a land with no flags, no passports, and no borders.

Celebrate 5 Years of Habibti Nation with us at @colourfactorylondon on 16.10.26 🎉🥳🍾 @sabba_paydar joins us from Iran via Copenhagen for her UK debut with high energy SWANA-infused global club sounds 🌍🇮🇷🇩🇰 alongside Palestinian powerhouse @_hibasalameh fusing Arabic traditions with futuristic electronic sounds 🇵🇸🪩 Anatolian-rooted club rhythms from @oztennnnn 🥁and strictly Habibti Nation selections from mama @luma_dj 🤗 Plus, an open decks opportunity for our community to open the night (DM if interested!) 💿 What started as a @balamii radio show in 2021 has grown into a platform for female, gender non-conforming and trans SWANA artists. From sold-out parties and festival stage takeovers to Glastonbury sets and DJ workshops for young people, it wouldn’t be anything without you all 😘 Artwork by @studioharamat inspired by archival footage of Kawleeya dance 💃🏽Wild hair whips, rapid footwork and ecstatic movement from Iraq’s marginalised Romany Kawleeya community 🇮🇶 Once stigmatised, now finding audiences far beyond the Arab world 🗺️ A nod to @luma_dj’s Iraqi roots and our ethos: no outcasts 🫂 Music outside the rules, across borders, making space for SWANA sounds, artists and communities 🤜🏽🤛🏾 Tickets on both DICE and RA, link in bio. YALLAH HABIBTIS 💓
