The new @georgiadrawsahouse studio is officially open!

Yesterda, we celebrated the opening with a joint birthday party for Georgia & @studioinnerwest @learnfromlucy, who runs workshops in the space on Fri & Sat.

After the ribbon cutting with @innerwestcouncil, 150 people took part in workshops, browsed the shop & ate cupcakes.

It was wonderful to see so much support from the community for this next iteration of G's business.

If you're looking for a space to hold your workshops and events or are eager to buy local products, get yourself down!

Huge congrats! 💜

Every piece of art in @georgiadrawsahouse new shop is made by someone I know (seriously my favourite kind of shop!)

So as each customer waited for me to ring up their purchases I told them about the person behind the work and asked if they’d follow them on socials and give them a shout out. It’s little things like that that make such a difference to a small business

@sayhelloco.com.au book sleeves
@pubgrubillustration calendars and tea towels
@laura.hamzic.art calendars
@leahsmark_illustration calendars
@sarahallenillustration puzzles
@monicafontesholland art prints
@la.mi.wi frills
@studioinnerwest art and workshops
And my @hiimdeb.au Crafternoon Tea blend

I know I’ve probably missed one of the incredible artists whose work is there so please tag them in the comments if I have!

Now go and follow all these people and show them some love

Not even a rainy Sydney Saturday could keep everyone away from the little pink shop! 🩷

@georgiadrawsahouse officially opened her shopfront today and it was PACKED!

We celebrated the opening, Georgia’s new roomie @studioinnerwest annnd both their birthdays!

There was fairy bread, cake, cookies, a giant colouring wall, drawing in the rain, mini junk journaling workshops and shelves full of goodies from some amazing small creative businesses (including a few Say Hello faves!).

Such a fun morning and so lovely to see everyone turn out to support Georgia and Lucy! 🩷

Although I am not ready yet and familiar with the contents. The main thing is understanding the style of workshop I’m witnessing with people taking action in real time on their business, no ads are ever immediate return, and what works for one person isn’t going to work for for you.

I got a text message from one of my best friends yesterday ‘I’m soo keen for the party but just so no one is embarrassed in the day, Lucy is….’

No she isn’t my cousin.
She is not my other sister you forgot about.

And despite our remarkable resemblance she isn’t even related to me.

However she is my twin.
Twin in business.

Lucy runs Studio Inner West, craft workshops with a cult following. She has been running this with great success for years.

She is the tik-tok to my Instagram.
The colour to my black and white.
The 27 to my 36.

And she is my new roomie. Every Friday and Saturday you can book into her workshops! All ages, unique crafty things to do.

I want this space to be alive with creatives.
And it will be because of Lucy.

On opening party, she is doing a long table for junk journalling. Whether you’re obsessed or haven’t ever dabbled you are welcome at this table! Bring your journals or we’ll have some for you.

Sit down.
Get out of your head and onto paper.

Between fairy bread, workshops and your spot of shopping. Lucy be there to show you how to book into her workshops!

So everyone say HIIIIII LUCCCY!

One of the BEST bits about opening this little shop is getting to fill the shelves with work from artists I’ve watched have a crack, back themselves + build something really fckn cool 🥹

And now I get to sell their art in my SHOP!!!

Very proud art mum behaviour.

Come meet some of the clever humans behind the work + buy yourself something cool at the opening on October 10th in the Inner West. Comment BIRTHDAY to RSVP. A day of free workshops, fairy bread and a spot of shopping!
