A tiny snapshot of a much larger piece. Very happy with result, hopefully I can share more at some stage. .We are wrapping up this fun and challenging install. Before we pack for shipment, we dry lay the entire piece. Creating these pieces is an intense process that revs up as we approach the deadline. Phew! Wouldn’t have it any other way.

The first version (previous post) was a maquette really, about 1/3rd the size of this and used as a render to work out some ideas, issues, problem solve.

This is built with more care, more consideration. The scale is about medium of what I’d like to ultimately get to.

25” ish diameter — honestly, I have no idea yet how we’re going to get it out of its support. It weighs a tonne.
I love breaking all the rules, taking chances, pushing things. The snake theme - which is in my bones - will feature heavily in the coming year.

Planned//unplanned — I’ve mulling this over in my mind for years. It’s a start, and I’m not sure this base pot can handle this, I’m pushing it to the limit — the unplanned part.

Work in progress — new series

One shelf of countless shelves in countless firings! God, I love tile!
I admit sometimes glazing, cleaning, loading the bit tiles makes me ask myself why the hell I make them, all is forgiven when I open the kiln and voila!

This is just a tiny drop in the bucket for large installation project for @coupdetatsf new Los Angeles Showroom.

Buh bye 2021. Oof, in many ways much harder than 2020. I’ve had some great projects to work on this year, and many will continue well into 2022, so there will be a lot more tile special projects in the future as the studio’s main focus is on fully custom tile installs.

The Moda Series continues expand in design options and installations, I hope some of which I will at some point be able to share with you.

At any rate, there will be much much more of this work coming in 2022.

P.S. the shop will also undergo some more changes in the coming year. More on that later. We are still open every day but Monday 11-4pm.

Thanks to all of our continuous customers and all the new folks who’ve found us! We literally would not still be here without you.

Tilescapes — a sneak pic of a larger project I’m working on.

I did maybe 12 yrs of tile before I moved into ceramics, so it feels great to evolve back into my first clay love.

Moda side tables are back on the work table, literally! I’ve been working at these for a while now, made a few minor design changes to improve making, finished pieces.

This is a new grey clay, so🤞🏼they go through the fire problem free.

Many of these coming up in production over next few months.
