POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Next week, I look forward to presenting „Exuviae“, a work of projection and light on Frank Stella’s sculptures from the „Hudson River Valley“ series, which have stood in my hometown of Jena for 30 years now. This ephemeral artwork is accompanied by a score by Nikolai von Sallwitz.

The sculptures combine salvaged industrial metal from factories along the Hudson River with raw casts of digitized models of forms such as cigar smoke rings. In doing so, Stella carried both physical and digital errors into the tradition of metal sculpture. Together with his extensive 2001 exhibition „Heinrich von Kleist,“ this informed my first experiments with 3D software, revealing that the digital need not be bound by physics or logic.

Stella was among those who helped me find my own path into abstraction, and I am deeply honoured to work with the sculptures of one of the pioneering artists of the 20th century.

Skatman is the DJ and producer alias of Aziz Haddad, founder of Cognitive Prophecy Records. Born in Tunisia and based in Berlin, his work can be read through Ibn Khaldun’s reflections on the rise and dissolution of collective formations, in which cultures and scenes emerge, consolidate, and transform through time, movement, and shared experience. In this cyclical sense, contemporary club culture appears not as a fixed system but as a sequence of transient states shaped by rhythm, proximity, and collective perception.

Rooted in Berlin’s international club ecosystem, he is associated with venues such as Watergate and performs regularly across Europe, including Berlin, Paris, Barcelona, and Istanbul, tracing the circulation of scenes across shifting urban contexts.

His discography and collaborations place him in proximity to labels such as Innervisions, Running Back, Correspondant, and International Deejay Gigolo Records, reflecting participation in a network of curated musical formations rather than isolated artistic statements.

The visual concept by Konstantin Fürchtegott Kipfmüller can be understood as another manifestation of the same cyclical logic that runs through the music itself. It does not appear as depiction or illustration, but as an autonomous formation within a shared perceptual space, in which meaning is not imposed from the outside but emerges from the internal coherence of the structure itself.

Sommerlounge - weSpace17

Every individual emerges within the tension of their experiences, their surroundings, and their unrelenting search for understanding. This is how Vaert takes shape, the music project of Gianluca Accardi, whose journey began in Italy and has since found its roots in Spain.

Vaert is a sonic poet, blending melodic techno with hypnotic rhythms and deep emotion. His music moves between inner reflection and collective ecstasy, between contemplative depth and the pulsing energy of the dancefloor. Shaped by the cultural landscapes of his origins and his present, he has developed a distinct sonic signature through releases on Afterlife, work for the Rekids offshoot RSPX, and now Live at Robert Johnson.

The visual concept by Konstantin Fürchtegott Kipfmüller extends this approach by re-examining the relationship between perception, reduction, and meaning. His work is not understood as a mere illustration of the music, but as an independent space within the wider fabric of artistic circumstances. A state of visual clarity that emerges from within itself, follows its own internal logic, and requires no external resolution.

Written & Produced by Gianluca Alain Accardi.

Anfragen an info@zukunftsoptimisten.de
