I like riding the bus to work (especially when there is a gas guzzling truck in my driveway!) This week council is on Tuesday. Here is my greatest takeaway from choosing MiWay to go to council the last four years: There is a difference between RIDING the bus and RELYING on the bus. I am grateful for the insights my friends on the 109 shared with me this morning. I met a different crew than Wednesday, and your experiences matter. Your insights will shape how I speak with residents at the door for the rest of this campaign. Let us talk transit and property taxes this Wednesday at 8 PM on your Facebook Live Community Conversations

Thank you. Thank you, Thank you. Your voices were heard with an unanimous vote last council and an ICBL passed today. We won. Your days off school, days off work do not go unseen. Let’s continue the conversation. I am available to you.

You probably can’t get away with crappy quality videos. Alex @Hormozi can. That was my thought when I saw his video about why he stopped caring about production. “Quality beats quantity. But quality quantity beats quality. But in order to get quality, you need quantity. That’s the irony.” He summarized. Creating more gives you more opportunities to test ideas, improve your delivery and understand what resonates. Audiences also seem open to content that feels immediate, unfiltered and less produced. But I think the conversation is giving too much credit to the format. There are a few things at play: 1. Who is delivering the message: their credibility 2. What is being said: the idea, context and copy 3. How it is delivered: the media, format and production style The debate is most focused on the third. As an epic entrepreneur with millions of followers, Alex Hormozi can film outside at a strange angle with imperfect audio because people already know him, trust him and expect the message to be valuable. He has also spent years, and literally millions of dollars, building the content infrastructure, volume and credibility that got him there. The raw format works because the other two pieces are already strong. For a B2B founder or executive without that existing audience or trust, turning on a phone with no microphone and rambling for 3 minutes will not automatically perform or feel authentic. Sometimes it’ll just simply be too hard to watch. There’s obviously a place for raw, timely content. There is also a place for thoughtful, highly produced content. The right choice depends on the person and brand plus the message, the audience, what the content needs to accomplish. The format is the most visible part, but credibility and substance are doing a lot of the work underneath. Are we entering an era of raw content, or is the pendulum simply correcting after overproduction?
