Our MA Degree Show @cglartschool opened on Monday 🥳. Thank you so much to all those who came to the PV to celebrate with us! I am overwhelmed with excitement and gratitude to have been awarded a 3 month residency at @standpointgallery with a presentation of my work in February. I cannot thank the Tutors and Standpoint Gallery enough for this opportunity, I am so looking forward to it. I will be at the show every day. Do come along and see! ❤️🥰

@maddie.rose.hills has built an incredible resource and podcast called @mater________ . The online archive has been painstakingly researched and recently relaunched. You should be a regular visitor! Mater is focused on conversations about our relationships with materials and is contributed to by a wide and brilliant array of artists, writers and researchers. Maddie asked me to have a conversation with another artist about paint, so in May I sat down with @lucienneomara for an enlightening chat about our methods, certainty and uncertainty. The Material Archive is a project which will hopefully never be truly finished. Published today, the archive is a living, growing online project which began as personal research. For over six years while researching the relationship between artists and materials, I made notes, bookmarked articles, collected quotes, photographed materials, and saved images, all gathered across a spreadsheet, saved tabs and quite a stressful computer desktop. Now this has become the Material Archive, which is a collection of this research, combined with original Mater projects. Every reference has been included because it has challenged and expanded how I think about a material. The archive and the brand new Mater website have been artfully designed, as always, by Victor Hwang @_victorhwang , who is a designer interested in the materiality and magic of technology. The design and build of Mater explores what’s in the overlap of these two (usually opposing) qualities. Mater exists to ask what draws people to the materials that they spend a lifetime working with. Which is why throughout the archive there are invitations to “submit” your own work to be part of it. What are the materials that you work with, and why? What have your learnt from these materials? What can they teach us about ourselves? What is it about them that keeps drawing you back? Link in bio to explore the material archive

What a fabulous varnishing day for the Summer Show at @royalacademyarts. Beginning with the service of thanks at St James Church Piccadilly followed by canapes and bubbly in the beautiful galleries.
