📌Save & try!
•
Breaststroke ——> grasshopper on the reformer. 3 reps then reverse (only 1 rep of each in this). 1 yellow spring on the elina or 1 green spring (either 1 light or 1 medium on a diff reformer) Then drop handles, lock carriage into place with all springs and flow into grasshopper!

🐍 & twist ✨
•
•
•
Filmed at @studiovervepilates , where I learned this classical reformer exercise from the super advanced repertoire! Beside just looking fancy, there are a myriad of benefits and purpose behind this move, like all of the other exercises Joseph Pilates created. Check them out below!
•
•
Benefits of Snake:
1. Core Strength & Stability – Deep engagement of the abdominals, especially the obliques and transverse abdominis, to support the spine.
2. Spinal Articulation & Flexibility – Encourages lengthening and controlled extension/flexion of the spine.
3. Shoulder & Arm Strength – Requires stability and support through the shoulders and upper body.
4. Hip Flexibility & Control – Stretches the hip flexors while demanding strength and mobility.
5. Breath Integration – Uses breath to support spinal movement and control.
6. Mind-Body Connection – Requires precise coordination, balance, and concentration.

Benefits of Twist: (the rotational variation)
1. Oblique Strengthening – Adds rotational challenge for strong, sculpted obliques.
2. Rotational Spinal Mobility – Improves thoracic spine rotation, which helps posture and everyday movement.
3. Asymmetrical Strength & Control – Works each side of the body independently, revealing imbalances.
4. Enhanced Shoulder & Wrist Stability – Rotation increases the load on stabilizing muscles.
5. Functional Rotation Training – Prepares the body for sports and daily activities that involve twisting.

Overall Benefits:
• Builds advanced strength, flexibility, and control.
• Promotes graceful, flowing spinal movement.
• Develops confidence and body awareness for advanced Pilates practice
