Who says kitchens have to be neutral?

This beautiful bespoke kitchen is proof that embracing colour can create a space that feels warm, inviting and full of personality.

The stunning combination of Red Earth and Montagu brings a beautiful contrast to the cabinetry and architectural details, creating a playful yet sophisticated scheme that feels both contemporary and timeless.

The homeowners opted for a sleek undermount sink, seamlessly integrated into the beautifully veined marble worktop. A considered choice that allows the natural stone to take centre stage while keeping the overall design clean and elegant.

And one of our favourite features? The stunning bespoke dining nook. With its rich green upholstered bench seating, natural oak table and deep burgundy chairs, this cosy corner brings together colour, texture and comfort. A space designed for everything from slow morning coffees to long evenings around the table.

It’s the little details, thoughtful colour combinations and beautifully considered finishes that make a kitchen truly special.

Let this be your inspiration to be a little braver with colour in your next kitchen design. 🤍

Corner seat at Sky House

A great place to perch whilst cooking socially or enjoying a quiet cup of tea. The corner seat is integrated into the kitchen furniture where the open glass corner captures the wonderful views over the local landscape and draws light into the heart of the home.

The week that almost broke me.
Progress, setbacks, stress fuelled inertia. Thankfully ended on a Den high because Emily is an absolute dream.

JOINERY details to inspire because who doesn't love a shelf?? Displaying collected and collated knickknacks makes me feel like a proper part time curator 💁🏾‍♀️

In other news, our joinery is being installed this week and I'm equal parts nervous and excited...

One of the kitchens from Rory’s last completed renovation project before relocating with his team to the Algarve.

This kitchen combines an IKEA base with bespoke doors crafted by a local joinery company — a hybrid approach that allows flexibility in layout while achieving a truly custom finish.
Handmade tiles, natural oak flooring, and joinery-grade birch plywood walls and ceilings bring warmth, durability, and character to the space.
The birch ply was responsibly sourced from Finland and treated with a fire-retardant sealant to meet high safety standards.

This IKEA + bespoke solution is something we are now replicating in our Algarve renovation projects — offering clients smart, high-quality kitchens tailored to their space.

Corner-to-corner triple-glazed glass creates an uninterrupted view across the valley while ensuring excellent thermal performance and comfort.

Above the window, a joinery-grade birch plywood ceiling integrates a carefully crafted recessed blind box — allowing the shading system to remain completely hidden while maintaining clean architectural lines.

Precision in detailing is what transforms a window into a defining feature of the space.

Sky House has been shortlisted for this year’s @riba Awards!

We’re immensely proud that the project has been recognised by such a prestigious institution and to be named alongside highly respected peers.

Sky House stands as part of a new generation of exemplary environmental retrofits across the UK; projects that prioritise reuse and recycling to dramatically reduce embodied carbon compared with new construction. Sky House has an embodied carbon reading of only 266 kgCO2e/m2, and is our first project to meet the RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge.

Entrance hallway at Sky House - designed for busy family life.

We set out to keep as much of the existing structure as possible, reducing our embodied carbon footprint wherever possible. But the existing house was a warren of rooms and the entrance an underground cavern. Our solution involved removing the central volumes and simplify the existing forms, raising the roof of the central core to bring light in and visually connect the half levels of the house.

We think this is a great way to arrive home…
