!! 🪇🇬🇧 PLENITUDE WAS A ROARING, GLITTERING, THUNDEROUS SUCCESS 🇬🇧🪇 !!

This was A Night of Ornament, Ecstasy, Sweat, Fabric and Beautiful Chaos. Thank you To Everyone ~’’• from Our wonderful Artists in England who could not be present on the night ( @viktoria__teresa and @hollysmagazine ), Our beautiful International Contributors ( @globaby_3 and @_zepalz ) and the Sweetest Audience I could Have Ever Asked For. As Well as the Beautiful Surprise Artist @stuffbylinus 🥹💙 - who is Cut off in this Photograph ( we Shall find a Full One in Time ) !¡! I Love a More Intimate Show - 🏵️🧱🗺️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🌍🌈.

This was the second show, following “In Bloom”, that I have coordinated in a leading capacity. Though truthfully, I have always felt somewhat resistant to the language of “leadership” when discussing art. Art, at its core, feels profoundly relational to me, built through collaboration, trust, and the generosity of many hands.

In keeping with that spirit, I made the decision not to ticket this event. In the future, I may accept donations to sustain future projects, but as this exhibition was titled “Plenitude: A Public Good”, it felt important that its ethos remained materially generous. I am very happy to share that we raised over 60 tins and essential food items for the Kingston Food Bank (@kingstonfoodbank @trusselluk) - which I will be donating over the course of the coming week.

I wanted this post to exist as an immediate celebration of the extraordinary labour these young people poured into this show. Please support students, emerging artists, and those beginning from modest circumstances whenever you can. Cultural history is often written retrospectively, and you rarely recognise you are witnessing the early chapters of someone remarkable while you are living through them.

Thank You To The Beautiful @stylistpatlyttle For Coming To This Happening, And For Capturing Us All So Wonderfully Through Your Lens - 📸🧷🌅.

‘If music is not being honoured by the DJs and musicians that created it then it takes away from the space as a whole’

@jungyalsngays is a London-based, multi-genre collective run by founders Chloe Parkinson and Daya Istiawan, creating queer- and female-led jungle and drum & bass spaces across the city. Their nights grew out of a desire to take the safe, worry-free energy of queer raves and bring it into wider underground spaces, without losing what makes those environments feel genuinely welcoming.

While more collectives are pushing for inclusivity, Chloe and Daya are clear that it’s still not enough. Jungle and drum & bass remain heavily male-dominated, from line-ups to promoters, and meaningful change can’t stop at surface-level representation.

For @jungyalsngays , inclusivity is about honouring the people who built these scenes – women, queer people, and people of colour and making sure their contributions are visible and respected. When that history is overlooked, the culture itself loses something.
