Josh and Stu on keeping Coldwater Aquariums! 🐠

🌊✨ In building Studio Kash, we imagined it as a home for clubs, hobbies, and passions — a place where communities can gather to share knowledge and keep their interests alive. This month, we’re excited to host the Long Island Reef Association, a community of aquarists dedicated to education, conservation, and advancing the marine aquarium hobby.

To start their series of meetings for the year, they are kicking off with a special talk featuring Stu Wobbe & Josh Groves. With years of combined experience exploring temperate shorelines, collecting specimens, and developing specialized life support systems, Josh and Stu have redefined what’s possible in coldwater marine aquariums. From kelp forests to delicate invertebrates, they’ve mastered the challenges of temperature control, seasonal lighting, and maintaining thriving displays of cooler ocean life.

As co-founders of Coldwater Marine Aquatics and contributors to CORAL Magazine, their work blends scientific curiosity with hands-on expertise — inspiring aquarists to push boundaries and explore the untapped beauty of temperate marine ecosystems.

📍 19 Scudder Ave. Floor 2, Northport 11768
🗓️ Friday | September 12, 2025 | 8pm

Hosted in partnership with the Long Island Reef Association

There aren’t enough words to express the incredible weekend I had at @reefapalooza NY!

A few highlights:
🦀 All the amazing inverts at the Island Fish and Scale (yes I have new friends for my tank)
🌱 Tia Davis’s macroalgae alchemy at Joe Gallipoli’s annual hibachi night
💵Finding a winning key at Serious Reefs with Ryan Batcheller and Oral Seymour
🐠 Getting to meet fellow coldwater enthusiasts and coral magazine authors Josh Groves and Stu Wobbe
🥳 Sister Susan King Groning having everyone sing happy birthday!

My heart is so full and my cup is overflowing with gratitude for everything you all bring to my life. Can’t wait for the next one! 🩵

This car is too rotted to be saved, I’ve ended up with what’s left, which is a CE2 Digi 8v car, which I need parts for a car that’s going to re enter my life soon.
