New York-based designer Paige Petrosso traces the emotional fallout of abrupt life change in "A mind trapped in yesterday." Drawing on Ezenwa E. Olumba's studies on cognitive immobility, she gives form to the pull of reconstructed memory: a looping archive of glorified experiences that comforts while it distorts reality. The cost is a warped past, stolen moments in the present, and shifted expectations of the future. Structured outerwear, reworked familiar forms, and materials that contain memory translate that psychological paralysis into something tactile, garments that hold nostalgia's weight, safety, and quiet suffocation close.

There’s something thrilling (yet terrifying) about free-falling into the unknown. Arms outstretched while my stomach churns.

Maybe I am a Vegas girl despite my reservations… I sure know how to gamble. Or at least that’s what it feels like I’m doing right now.

I’m placing a bet on what feels right, trusting my intuition over proof of what my future will look like. There’s no crystal ball giving me comfort. It is all just a feeling… Just trust.

Now, for context, I’m moving back to New York. It has been a year and a half since the fire, and a year and some change since I left. But the gravitational force of the city keeps pulling me back in, and I can’t ignore it.

I’ll admit my plan is more of a sketch than a blueprint. But to build what’s next, I have to be in the city, laying the foundation one brick at a time.

So this Saturday, I’m returning home.

There’s much more to say about this impending adventure, as well as much to say about all that led up to this moment.

But for now, I’ll enjoy my last few days in Las Vegas with family and friends before the next chapter of my life begins.

Thank you LA for selling out @lodgeroom the other night ⛅️ still floating on a sleepy cloud. Thank you to my merry band, @reverendbaron + @storeylittletn for such good opening sets, and to Balmorhea springs for cleansing us right before the end. Couldn’t have asked for a better end.
