Sorry, cringe millennial long post coming, too bad 😋 I posted this pic to my LinkedIn (feel free to add me there if you’re a creative!) this morning with a story about failures to launch. This photo represents one of those stories, for me.

There are a lot of stories of things not working out in my career. Sometimes, it was a hard lesson I had to look at with myself, sometimes it was for things entirely out of my control. I think failure to launch is kind of par for the course if you’re a creative of any kind, though. I can’t say it doesn’t bother me, but I can say that I get better at dealing with the letdowns (most of the time).

This photo of @jennyzigrino and me was taken last year for a project that failed to get off the ground due to a series of things that we couldn’t have predicted. Life happens. I wanted to share this photo now bc @stephanjahanshahi is a fantastic photographer, and because Jenny and I look so cute 🥰

New things come — @gaudypositiveshow is back. Jenny’s booked some exciting upcoming things. I’m working to launch a startup called @traceyours right now that supports creatives of all kinds with protecting their digital identities and their work online. I know that what we’re doing matters, and the people we’re serving need this. I hope you’ll agree, and at the very least, give us a follow.

I said I’ve gone through the back door to get through most of my career already, so I guess I’ll keep failing upward while I’m at it.

I am bored with this idea that you should only be photographed in a look once. That’s some real weird made-up shit rich people came up with to exclude the rest of the lunch tables. No designer wants to be loved just once. In my view, the BEST pieces in my closet are the things I want to wear again and again. You’ll find repeat looks if you scroll my feed, and that’s not a accident. I love my clothes. I really love my clothes.
