$A Return to Touch I’m so grateful to be back in the treatment room this week after 10 weeks of healing from a fractured ankle! There’s something about returning to the work you love that makes you appreciate it all over again. I’ve missed the quiet intimacy of the treatment room and the privilege of caring for people through touch. In a world that often asks us to connect through screens, I’m reminded that in-person connection is its own kind of medicine. During these weeks of stillness, I’ve reflected on an ancient Daoist principle: wu wei (無為), often translated as “effortless action” or “non-doing.” It invites us to move in harmony with the natural rhythms of life rather than force an outcome. We see this expressed through relaxed alignment, fluid movement, and a strength that comes from working with the body rather than against it. My own healing has been a humbling lesson in this philosophy. I couldn’t rush a fractured bone into mending any more than I could coax a flower into blooming. Sometimes, the most productive thing we can do is ... do less. Trust that slowing down is not the same as falling behind. And to remember that vitality is not only cultivated through effort, but replenished through rest. I look forward to welcoming you back to the treatment room! Yours in radiant health, Lesley Sario @elkrockwellness 🧡$
