My pastor @dranitaphillips preached this so good. She said it doesn’t say that God is not sending anything. It’s like in football, God is throwing you the ball but because you’re double minded going back and forward where He sent the ball you’re not in position to receive.

I created this place from a position of feeling like im finally in alignment with the Lord. Realizing it’s hard to receive things when your hands are full…when you’re chasing what you think is supposed to be yours (professionally, relationally , etc)…it’s hard to see God when you won’t be real with Him about what really going on. I’m so in a place of surrender I just want what God has for me in every aspect and I want to be who He formed me to be the person He had in mind as He knitted and woven together before I was here. That’s the greatest version of me and I just…I want that.

Thank you again to my Sistahs @imaniime_ & @itsbriababby for helping me pull this off the week of the show ! To @terrannoir for putting on for the city and giving us opportunities. Terrain your love and support towards me from day 1 has been so appreciated I’m so grateful that God has blessed me with you. I love you dearly ! Shoutout to @grindhousedance901 and the amazing choreographers and talent who also was apart of the show!

Some songs just always circle back and will forever be timeless. And Master Blaster is that song for me. 🥹

I don’t think I’ll ever have the right words to fully describe what this performance felt like. I literally created this piece in THREE DAYS. Three days. And my cast had three days to learn it while also being in other people’s pieces, rehearsals, and everything else happening around them. And somehow… it was still so magical. So beautiful. So full of life.

This piece also allowed me to reconnect with people I genuinely never thought I’d cross paths with creatively again. And for that alone, I’m extremely grateful.

I’m grateful that God continues to make room for my gift. He continues to allow me and the people around me to find space, reconnect, meet new people, and remember that we all share this same gift. Dance has a way of bringing us back into our bodies, back to each other, and back to the joy of simply MOVING.

I feel like this piece is such a beautiful close to a year of being overly creative, trusting myself again, and remembering just how capable I am as a choreographer. I’m proud to create work that brings ME joy, but also brings joy to the people dancing it and the people watching it.

And I truly could not have done this without my cast. You guys were simply AMAZING. Even with every little hardship, schedule conflict, and everything that came up, y’all did your BIG ONE. 😂❤️ Thank you for trusting me, showing up, and giving this piece everything you had.

And thank you to @grindhousedance901 , @subroymovement_dot_org , and @terrannoir for continuing to create spaces where my creative gifts can be showcased in my city. Thank you for giving me opportunities to pour back into the dancers around me and create art that we can all carry with us.

Master Blaster just brings me so much joy.

And I’m just… grateful. 🤎

To my soloists/freestylers, @theblackkennn.doll @mijinay @tgoods8 &DeeDee I chose each of you for a specific reason…to UNDERSTAND THE ASSIGNMENT!! And yall did just that. Thank you for being PROFESSIONAL and always executing the task🤞🏽
