Missed our opening and curious about the gaze? 👀 Join us for the artist talk this Sunday, Oct. 25, at 3 PM at @atlantaphotographygroup! Today, I’m sharing @jputtphoto paired with A Performance Is Always Happening by A.L. Steiner, reflecting on how we portray our gender and identity. “What is the performance of an actor? A politician? An artist? A dancer? How are you being a man? A woman? Is all gender a drag? What constitutes consciousness? Why do you think what you think? Why do you like what you like? Are you conscious of your body? Did you make that decision? Can you dance at a party? How did you envision your life? Was it your vision? When you are acting? What are you acting out? Life requires play, and not much else is worthwhile.” 📚 Want to learn more? Check out the Subverting the Gaze Virtual Bookshelf for additional reading, resources, and context around the exhibition! Or see you at the artist talk. 📍 @atlantaphotographygroup 1544 Piedmont Ave NE, #107 Atlanta, GA 30324 Located in Ansley Mall, between CVS and LA Fitness. 🕙 Gallery hours: Tuesday–Saturday, 10 AM–4 PM, or by appointment. 🎤 Artist Talk: Sunday, October 25, 3–5 PM, in person ✨ Subverting the Gaze is on view through November 6.

Thank you to everyone who came out for the opening of Eyes on Atlanta: Subverting the Gaze at @atlantaphotographygroup last night! 💛 Special thanks to @davidcliftonstrawn and @bryangalganophotography for such a beautifully festive reception. So proud of all of the artists! After curating 3️⃣ shows this fall, I am ready to rest. 💤 👁️ Join us for our artist talk on Sunday, October 25, from 3–5 PM. “Post-Black?” An exhibition curated by @mungodoesart is an exploration of artist that choose not to allow themselves to be boxed in by labels. Often times straying away from what is considered “black art,” they create, purely, within the understanding that they are artists, creators, first and foremost. Don’t miss it. Future Gallery - 255 Ted Turner Dr SW, Atlanta, GA. Exhibition Opening - September 11th at 7PM Artist Talk - September 25th at 7PM

Post Black, is an exhibition exploring what it means to be a black creative in Atlanta in 2026, standing on the shoulders of those that have come before. It also is exploring what black art as a broader topic is, and how it connects or how it doesn’t.
