@sumerwhattup is the daughter of an Indigenous mother from Oklahoma and an Arab father who immigrated from Saudi Arabia. Growing up within a Choctaw family, beading has brought a profound sense of peace, and she infuses every creation with positive thoughts and intentions.

Ms. Karma Leigh a talented Xicana who did the beautiful artwork and illustrations for Bird Kin deck. She’s a teacher, artist, and forever student.

Me (Sumer) who had the honor of birthing this project and the creating the booklet’s writings with my life experiences, galactic family, bird kin, and ancestors guidance.

We have very few pics together even though we spent about 3 years creating this deck so I wanted to share our faces and say thank you for all the support. We have some exciting news to share soon. 🦩

I don’t show studio work that often, so after having last shown these two pieces at my museum exhibitions in Colorado and Arizona, I’m happy to show them again as part of “Composure”, a group show at @pellasgallery in Boston.
I’m especially happy to display these two paintings in particular there, because they’re interpretations of a work from 1950 by Boston-born and educated Loïs Mailou Jones (1905-1998), who was one of the first female African American painters to achieve success and recognition, and I always hoped these pieces would be seen in her hometown. Boston is also the hometown of another great female painter—my mother, so it’s nice to exhibit studio work there for the first time.
The show was curated by @toddmazer and will be up at Pellas Gallery until mid-January of 2021.

Our darling friends and customers, we know that the last several months have been very rough, and especially so in the last few weeks. Many of us are in great pain as the country is facing great challenges as we fight for our health, for our lives, for justice, and we as fight against institutionalized rascism & police brutality.
Today & tomorrow (June 6-7), we would like to offer a custom Bach flower essence to you as a small gesture to help support your emotional & spiritual well-being during these trying times. We will be taking donations if you feel so-called. But no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Pop into the shop anytime during our open business hours, and we will happily give you a questionnaire to fill out, and formulate your custom blend to fit your needs!

We utilize the Bach flower essence kit, which contains the 38 essences that Bach found during his lifetime. These essences are diluted in spring water, are generally taken orally, and act on a vibrational level to help bring one into a more balanced state. These subtle, yet powerful, essences can help bring a touch of groundedness or centeredness when one feels unbalanced or unsure of how to proceed in a given moment. I always say that no matter what’s going on, the Bach essences help me breathe a sigh a relief so that I can carry on & face whatever I must.

We showed a few sneak peeks in our @indigenouspopx fashion show. One was a custom printed jacket liner, modeled here by @reddotfeather, the center piece was a hand dyed denim vest and tee modeled by @a.lexascott , and the last is our cinched and custom fitted Dickies pant with “End Police Violence” denim jacket worn by model @dezbah.rose .
These items will be available at OFF-MARKET, coming to Santa Fe this August 17th-18th 🙌🏽🙌🏽.
All work and concepts are a collaboration with myself and @allousto 🖤🙏🏾
