WHAT IF YOUR NEXT FAVOURITE OUTFIT IS ALREADY OUT THERE? 👀

There’s something exciting about thrifting. You can walk in without knowing exactly what you’re looking for and somehow leave with a piece that feels like it was waiting for you. 😂

However, beyond the thrill of finding a good piece, thrifting gives clothes another chance. A piece that someone no longer wears can become someone else’s favourite, and that simple exchange is one of the ways we can enjoy fashion while being more conscious about what we consume and how long our clothes stay in use.

That’s why we’re bringing the Fashion Thrifting Experience to the Miss Green Fashion Impact Summit.

Come ready to explore pre-loved fashion, discover hidden gems, play around with style and experience sustainability in a way that is practical, social and, most importantly, fun.

Please come with that fashion-loving friend who will happily spend 30 minutes searching through a rack with you because “there has to be something here.” 😂

You never know what you’ll find, who you’ll meet or what conversation might start from one unexpected fashion discovery.

Fashion is more than a product and behind every garment is a chain of people, resources, decisions and environmental consequences.

As consumers and industry professionals, becoming more conscious of that chain is an important part of building a more responsible fashion industry.

What does responsible fashion mean to you?

Do you shop intentionally or impulsively?

What Does It Really Mean to Be a Miss Green Fashion Queen?

Being a Miss Green Fashion Queen is more than the crown, the sash, the beautiful outfits and the moment everyone is cheering your name. It means having a platform and knowing what to do with it.

It means using your voice to start conversations, your influence to inspire others and your opportunities to create meaningful impact, especially around fashion, sustainability and the things you genuinely care about.

When the applause fades and the cameras are gone, the work continues.

Our Queen is not expected to have everything figured out. She is expected to keep learning, growing, showing up and using the crown as a platform for something bigger than herself.

So, Future Miss Green Fashion Queen, if you’ve ever wondered whether you could be more than a beauty queen, we think you should keep that thought. 👀

The crown is only part of the story, the woman who wears it has the real impact.

October is looking a little different at Miss Green Fashion, and honestly, we think you’re going to like this one.

While the main Miss Green Fashion 2026 event has moved to next year, we’re not waiting until next year to bring our community together.

This new event is an opportunity to connect, ask questions, learn something new and be part of the conversation.

And yes, registration will be opening soon 👀

So save this post, share it with someone who would love to be in the room and keep your eyes on this space.

The main event may be next year, but the conversation starts this October.

ALUMNI WIN! 🎉🧡💙

What happens when a WAVER turns an idea into an opportunity to make a difference? Impact.

The @sustain_it_nations Thrift and Swap Experience 2026 brought people together to explore how textile waste can be transformed into opportunities that benefit both people and the planet — through thrifting, swapping and donations. 👗♻️

We were proud to support our alumna by providing a space for her to bring this initiative to life, and even prouder to see the conversations, connections and impact that came from it.

Our support for our WAVERs doesn’t end at graduation. We believe that the skills, and opportunities we provide can empower our alumni to pursue their goals and create meaningful change in their communities.

For other WAVERs, this is also a reminder that WAVE’s support can go beyond training. Whether you’re launching an initiative, building your career, or creating solutions in your community, there may be opportunities for us to support your journey and help bring your ideas to life.

And this is exactly why we continue to invest in our alumni. When we support a WAVER, we’re not just supporting one person — we’re supporting the impact they can go on to create.

To our amazing alumna, thank you for taking the initiative to make a difference. We’re proud to be part of your journey. 🧡

Fashion produces around 10% of global carbon emissions, while Africa contributes less than 1%.

Yet millions of tonnes of used clothing arrive on African shores every year. Much of it is low-quality or unwearable, eventually ending up in our landfills, rivers, beaches and communities.

Nigeria is living with the consequences of a fashion waste problem we did not create.

Ethical fashion is not a luxury for Africa. It is a matter of survival and climate justice.

This is why Miss Green Fashion exists: to equip women with the knowledge, purpose and courage to build a better future for fashion in Africa.

Swipe through, save this, and share it. 👑💚

Your wardrobe doesn’t need more clothes.

It might just need better choices.

Buy less, choose pieces you’ll actually love, and give them a longer life. Sustainable fashion isn’t always about doing something big — sometimes, it starts with simply being more intentional about what we buy and how long we keep it.

A little more thought behind our choices can go a long way.
