Happy heavenly birthday to my Vinny🤍 Today he would have been 10 years old. On Vinny’s birthday we always had the tradition of doing all his favorite things. No matter how busy life got, on his birthday nothing else mattered. And I spoiled the crap out of him (duh). I promised him that even though he isn’t physically here, I would still honour his soul and keep that tradition going.

This is why I created the Good Boy Project and made July Vinny’s month. A month to be present and do the things you love- NO MATTER how much the world throws at you.

Today we:
-Went for a car ride to Starbucks for coffee and pup cups.
-Went on one of Vin’s favorite walks to wolf willow (and yes we did the stairs)
-Went to the river (safely)
-Went shopping for toys and treats at a pet store we loved
-Went to McDonald’s because he loved nuggets
-donated some money to rescue, because without rescue, I wouldn’t have had 9 beautiful years with Vinny
-And then spent the rest of the day being present and just enjoying some time without obligations or responsibilities 💙

I hope this inspired you to love your dogs a little harder. You never know how much time you have.

If you’d like to get involved with Vinny’s Legacy, the Good Boy Project, please do! 💙💙💙 Track your activities, donate, and hug your fur babies extra tight!

Here we are in July, trying to live our best lives, just as dogs do! Our goal is simple- Raise a bit of money for animal rescue, and simultaneously track activities that force us to be more present and just enjoy the little things. All those activities earn you tail wags that go to our larger group goal of 7000 tail wags in July.
Your donation? Just a quick $20 and it goes into the Vinny fund which will be donated to animal rescue at the end of the month in Vinny’s honour! Think of the $20 as a pledge and promise to yourself to be more present this month!
So easy.

Vinny loved a good pupcup! July 1-31 join our fundraiser and log activites that bring you joy. Each activity helps us earn tail wags towards our community goal! And all donations big and small are pooled into Vinny’s fund which will then be donated at the end of July to local animal rescue in Edmonton. Activities are what you make of them! From workouts, intentional walks, self care and spending time with your pets and loved ones, we are looking to be present this July. Vinny’s legacy lives on💙💙

Vinny, a charming Jack Russell and Chihuahua mix, was a true spitfire with a heart full of sass and unconditional love. 🐶✨

From the moment he joined Summer and Cody's family, he brought boundless energy, a playful spirit and a unique personality.

Whether he was flashing his famous smile, meticulously chewing his beloved rubber toy or finding quirky nooks for naps, Vinny filled every day with joy and laughter.

He was Summer's constant companion, her soul dog, offering quiet support through life's many milestones and creating countless cherished memories during car rides, river walks and snuggly Netflix sessions. 🍿

Even when faced with unexpected health challenges, Vinny's joyful spirit and the deep bond he shared with Summer remained unwavering, leaving an indelible mark of love on everyone lucky enough to know him. ❤️🌈

This Lemony Farro Salad, inspired by the lovely @spiceboxtravels, is the kind of summer dish that captures the best of the season in every bite. 🥗☀️

Nutty farro forms the backbone of this salad, offering a deliciously chewy, fiber-rich base that fuels long summer days. 🌾 Peppery arugula and fragrant herbs are the star of the plate, while creamy avocado adds heart-healthy richness, and crisp pistachios bring the kind of crunch that begs for “just one more bite.” 🌱🥑 A bright, zesty lemon dressing — rich in vitamin C — ties it all together, making this salad feel both light and deeply satisfying. 🍋

This fresh and fun salad is a reminder that summer meals don’t have to be complicated to be wholesome, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. 🌱🍋🥑

Perfect for a sunny lunch, a colorful side, or a no-fuss summer dinner, this Lemon Farro Salad delivers the best of the season — one delicious bite at a time. 🍽️💛

🌱 This recipe is made with 7 plants and helps you reach your goal of 30 plants a week!
Farro = 1 🌱
Kale = 1 🌱
Arugula = 1 🌱
Avocado = 1 🌱
Pistachios = 1 🌱
Lemon = 1 🌱
Basil = ¼ 🌱
Chives = ¼ 🌱
Olive oil = ¼ 🌱
Cumin = ¼ 🌱
