everyone involved in this shoot made it all come together so effortlessly and really brought the vision to life!

big thank you to The Connection for welcoming us into the space and letting us take over for a lil bit. crazy to find out they’ll be selling the bar after so many years. feeling grateful we got to document a place that’s held memories for so many people🫀

@legit.lucy went crazy with the styling + location scouting

@1undred on the video + 2nd shooter

@calsurplus @doinwat1do for trusting us with the visuals

@mag.dre @sunangelco @wulffvnky for making it so easy to capture y’all

6 years ago, they killed George Floyd and in those protests that came after it, I saw a future in which black people mattered and I went to work. Everything I have ever done is in memory of George Floyd. All black people are Superman, but they just want us to be Clark Kent. Remember, they killed Jesus and Mansa Musa gave them gold. Stick to the code 🇭🇹. @solangeknowles @theuglygram @seyitinubu @iamcardib @jayz @jayelectronica @beyonce @richforever @mrmoney @olamide

lately, every time i grab the pepper from the spice cabinet, the wrong side of the lid comes loose.

you know, the side that lets the spices pour out uncontrollably. by the time I notice, it’s already too late. there’s nothing I can do but watch it spill.

that feels like my life lately — unexpected and overflowing.

i hope life keeps peppering you with sweetness. not just in careful, measured pinches. not just in sprinkles here and there. but in an uncontrollable pour — the kind that’s messy and abundant all at once. 🤎

One year ago, I decided to take a chance and uproot my life and move to San Francisco, California with the hopes of turning my creativity into a living.

Along the way, I met some amazing people, new friends, new family, lifelong friendships, and learned so many things about myself that trying to fit it all into one Instagram post wouldn’t be enough.

I joined @theacademyatgoodbysilverstein where I honed my writing skills, and learned what it means to be a true creative.

I want to give a special shout out to all my classmates and my teachers, @goodby_silverstein for all the amazing lessons that I learned and new avenues to creation that I discovered.

Cheers to the next uprooting of my life and cheers to graduating from @theacademyatgoodbysilverstein aka the Harvard of advertisement schools.
