Over the past few years, Gus Mehrkam (vocals, guitar), Manoa Neukermans (bass) and Kai Neukermans (drums), have built undeniable momentum as Midrift. Their breakout tracks “Twin Flames” and “Unrequited” (200M across the catalogue) surged online resonating with a new generation of listeners. Gus, Manoa, and Kai grew up
together in the Bay Area, skating and playing music in other bands before forming Midrift in 2023. After extensive touring in 2025, which included pivotal festival plays at Sound and Fury and their hometown festival Outside Lands, the band will be supporting Angel Du$t and julie / Fleshwater on tour this Spring before heading off to perform in Europe this summer at Best Kept Secret Festival in the Netherlands and Rock For The People Festival in Czech Republic.

Albany, New York's @sunblocband have made their first music video for "Reverse", the closing track from their latest EP "Joyride". The band move between post-hardcore, punchy alternative rock and the more melodic side of 90s hardcore, and this particular song deals with losing somebody who once felt like family.

The video, directed by @jakelutter, takes the characters from the EP's artwork out into Albany, with references to "Paris, Texas" and a 1964 Buick Electra 225 that @porkyscustomcyclepaint bought and spent weeks working on to match the artwork. The two-day shoot kept going wrong. A suspension failure forced the crew to abandon planned scenes and move the biggest part of filming to Porky's garage, where some fireworks accidentally set a dumpster on fire.

After seeing the final cut, vocalist Mathew Bradley started thinking about his friendships a little differently. The song had originally come from losing someone close, but watching the film reminded him of the people who still call back. We talked to the band and Jake about the story behind "Reverse", the making of the video and what changed once they watched it.
