Good morning!

It’s been a busy couple days for us as we shift the shop. We’ve incorporated a lot of new small independent businesses goods that we’ve discovered into the shop, we’ve love all the new first chapter of Sage & Clare’s new season called Dakota and a refresh of many of our local makers with a lot of restock in customer favorites as well.

Hope you have a good long weekend, pop in and see as there’s everything from bath, bedding, clothing, cushions, body essentials and so much more.

Open everyday rain or shine!

We are right downtown in the heart of Ojai

There’s so much new, good stuff in the shopI can’t get it all in one reel.

Missing is a bunch of super cute new clothing, organic cotton bath mats and cushions in all color stories and pottery and several new hair accessory brands. Pop in and see next time you’re down town.

Local favorites Restock: Clare dropped off new beaded earrings, Robins brought in new vessels and mugs & tumblers, Vanessa has updated her case with gorgeous sterling silver jewelry and Isabella’s amber rings are stocked in gold and silver. Michaela has a new selection of hammered brass earrings, beaded necklaces and brass jewelry too.

All the best to you beating the heat this weekend!

Coming home tonight from a long road trip for work and wanted to share how beautiful it looked driving through town. It’s even better now with the full moon.

I always feel fortunate to drive into our small town after a trip into the huddle and bustle of a big city.

Lucky to live here ♥️

We are so lucky!

For many things, but I wanted to tell you about a wonderful experience I had. I met Conner the owner of @bandits_bandanas at the Ojai farmers market about 5 years ago and had saved an email conversation thankfully as he was so kind and had offered to help if I ever wanted to print my bandanas and share his resources.

Well 5 years later I pulled up the email and reached out and he was open and responded quickly and with no hesitation the offer was still there.

Bandana Bandits is an Ojai owned business that sources artists for one of a kind collaborations to create bandanas that the artist gets to pick a non-profit to donate 10 percent of profits to. You can find them in our shop too.

It’s rare to find an established business that will take the time to lift another. I’m very grateful.

I was able to produce my bandanas in a fair trade factory and switch to organic cotton vs conventional cotton, raise the quality and actually lower the price from my past bandanas due to getting higher quantities. A win for everyone. They feel incredible and I’m so excited to offer them again.

I’m a long time supporter of bandanas, I always have one with me and use it for so many things.

More colors to come, but we started with a beautiful green with cream artwork and a cream with black artwork.

Sometimes I forget that this is how we started our entire business close to 8 years ago, with my illustrations. We’ve evolved and shifted and my artwork is just a small part of Sunday’s here in Ojai.

Thank you for your continued support for our shop, thank you to @bandits_bandanas for openly sharing your experience and resources with us to make a better product with less impact.

Unbelievable!

Thank you so much for coming to the shop and supporting Poco Farm!

100% of the proceeds from all of the Poco Farm goods goes directly to Poco farms! Damn that’s a lot of organic tees & hats.

We started last June and just wrapped up a full year of giving back in this way and it’s just what we hoped for. We can’t thank you enough for picking up items for yourself or a gift.

Thank you so very much & what a wonderful gift to support our community. Poco is such a blessing for all our kids and really everyone in Ventura county.

I’m sharing this too because I dream of all the shops picking a nonprofit they loved to support and how much we could collectively make a difference in our community.

Please follow their instagram, @poco_farm they post all their events: summer camps, family farm days, silent weeding and so much more.

Big love and thanks from us to all our customers! You really made a significant contribution to a great nonprofit organization and people working hard to share out the benefits of regenerative farming and do much more as an educational farm program.

Hope you had a nice 4th. Ojai’s the sweetest way to celebrate an old school 4th of July with family & friends. The town kinda shuts down and just makes the most of the day.

It’s so fun to see the entire community, old friends, kids who have grown in to adults and watch the little ones soak up a tradition and have a good time.

We’re open today, stop in. Lots of new goodies and we are restocked in your favorites.

Fun little Ojai tradition. It’s so fun to see all the kids (my children’s friends, now adults. Just love all of them) and to get together for a moment to watch the parade with family & friends before we open shop.

Soleil planned out the snacks for about a month and loved putting them together for family to enjoy.

Hope you had a good mellow day & enjoyed the fireworks wherever you are.

Summer is here…

Means a lot to the kids and as you age it’s a little different. That was the best time of the year as a child.

It’s different as an adult working full time, for me it’s all about the additional warm light and the gift of time. More outdoor meals and more energy to do things after work.

Over the years I’ve loved settling up for a dinner or party. Bringing out that beautiful bowl someone passed on to you, silverware you scored at the thrift, a vintage tablecloth and a vase full of flowers from the farmers market.

I’ve tried to hunt & gather some things I imagine would work well together or as an addition to someone’s beautiful dining table. A handmade sun plate full of fruit from Morocco, European flax linen table cloth, the sweetest sun napkin holders handmade in Colombia, fun felt or leather coasters & trivets from California, the sweetest sets of hand drawn/painted napkins and a silly cussing jar for all those dinner conversations (kids can save up for that fun summer vacation) lots of talented artist & craftsmanship to color, texture, prints and opportunities to layer in a little something for a just a touch of sweetness or inspiration.
