✨️CHECK HIGHLIGHTS FOR SHIKKOKU SUNRISE 2024 FOOTAGE✨️

Two years ago in 2024, I've launched my noise experimental techno hybrid show SHIKKOKU SUNRISE, and it all started with this hydroflask that JOHNNY got me a few years prior.

In 2023, my household Da Berendo Haus and our sister household The Fedora House all went on a roadtrip to Ventura County-- they were performing in TATSUYA NAKATANI's Gong Orchestra in Ojai, and I tagged along. On the first night, we went to a show at a gallery in Ventura where I saw JEHANNE perform for the first time. I liked their music, but I didn't say anything because I'm shy antisocial.

Next day, in Ojai, everyone was rehearsing for the gong set, and I was just hanging around at the venue chilling. That's when TEDDY from JEHANNE noticed my hydroflask: TRESOR BERLIN and SURACHAI's stickers I put on it. He was so friendly and nice telling me that he also liked techno. It was a cute bonding moment.

Months later, I was at a warehouse in DTLA dancing my night away to my favorite dark industrial techno DJ from Berlin ANCIENT METHODS. There I saw NEMETON, someone whom I've always run into at almost every ANCIENT METHODS show in LA. Not only that, TEDDY and ALEX PELLY were there too, and that's when I realized that they were all really good fwends. What a small world, I love the feeling of my circle getting smaller but more intense like this.

Then sometime later, I was at Coaxial to see NEMETON's DJ set. ALEX was there too. Around this time JEHANNE was releasing their first EP as well. With all these encounterings, I actually had a vision, more like a fantasy, in my head, but I was unsure about it. On this night, it felt right that the universe was on my side, so I've gathered my shy courage to actually voice my idea to them: "what if we do a show together?" It was instant yes, and this was how SHIKKOKU SUNRISE was born, and I've gathered our like-minded fwends to do special sets for this hybrid show.

I'd like to thank everyone who performed, helped with the production, and came to experience this magical night together. (More info in the comment section)

Also thank you Adam for some of the beautiful photos! @spambotshavefeels
