I love this cover. It looks amazing displayed this way. It takes a lot to put a comic book together, and Chango: The Broken Veil Act 2 was no exception. More than a few years passed between Act 1 and Act 2. Sitting in my studio grinding away on the pages, I struggled to figure out how I was going to finish it. I had so many other projects on my desk that I had to prioritize, and for a while I believed I'd never get back to it. Ben, the co-creator and writer, had moved 3,000 miles away to California. I had moved south to sunny Florida. But I kept plugging away. After a couple of years, an opening in my schedule let me finish the pencils. I'd been working digitally, but I wanted tactile boards of the whole book, so I inked every page by hand. Then the book needed to be flatted and colored, so I taught myself how to flat, asking my colorist friends for tips and tricks along the way. It took a long time, and I learned a lot. Mostly, I learned that I needed help. Act 2 is a whopping 54 pages. That's 54 pages of pencils, inks, and flats. So I stepped back and figured out my next steps: I needed funding, and I needed the right people to help me get to the finish line. I worked, I saved, and I met some wonderful creatives who I knew would complement the team. 🎨 Our colorist, Sunna Frías, hails from Spain, the land of my ancestors. ✍️ Our letterer, Mike W. Belcher, creator of Man in the Mask, is an awesome talent. 🔥 The logo needed a redesign, so I turned to my son, Austin James, a working professional musician who also designs logos. He did incredible work on Gods and Soldiers and Jin and Tonik, and he delivered again here. 🖌️ Rounding out the team is Sara Klassen from Canada, who did a wonderful job on the cover colors. Comics are truly a collaborative endeavor. Where else can you bring together such a diverse cast, people from all over the world, of every background, all working together to make the best book they can? I'm blessed to have worked with these talented creators. Chango will be a great book because of them @sunnafrias @mikew_belcher @austinjamesmusic @saradoescolor #horror #horrorart #horrorcomics #indiecomics #latinocomics

#worldbuilding #theworldofikkra #characterdesign

Hi there!💫 On this account, I’ll be posting sketches and the full visual development of a story/world-building project I’ve been working on since 2024 (it’s already been 3 years – my goodness), and it's called: "THE WORLD OF IKKRA" Now, after all this time, I finally feel I’ve reached a level of artistic skill where I can bring to life everything I want to create: characters, places, creatures… a whole world. If you’re still reading this far, thank you so much for your support! This is a very important project for me and means a great deal emotionally, so thank you so very much for your support! Character: Dith Dith is one of the main and most enigmatic characters in the story. As she is the first (maybe the second) character I’ve created for this story, I thought it would be best to post about her first. What do you think?

Abéona : le Cœur du Lien Abeona II is a giant migratory ship that drifts moribundly through the cosmos. It has been habited by humans and robots for generations, in search of a home, but these two species forgot that purpose centuries ago and diverged from each other. The separation and prejudice between these peoples has caused a deep sickness at the Nucleus of the ship, bringing it close to the brink of collapse. However, despite the ignorance of its inhabitants, there is someone who senses what is happening and appears to be determined to travel to the end of her world to preserve it. Dara is a young cyborg, half human and half robot, full of empathy and curiosity. Her intuition leads her to contact the ship's Nucleus, discovering the truth behind the decay, the Heart of the Bond has decomposed. Together with her little friend Bit, an infiltration robot, Dara will descend into the world of robots, which has always been beneath her feet, but whose passages were closed a long time ago. There they will encounter all kinds of mechanical creatures, societies and unimaginable places where nature and technology blend in a unique way. Travelling to the last corner to rebuild the Heart and with it the bond between the towns. All to give Abeona back her life and her course. _________________________________________ This project has been carried out in collaboration with @sunnafrias , in the creation and design, and she has been the colourist while I have been in charge of drawing and inking.

Te presentamos a Sunna.
