Spent a delightful birthday weekend at the @mdrennfest with wonderful friends who I don’t get to see very often 💖 I debuted a new outfit and embraced a new color palette for a day, got my hair braided (a faire first for me!), visited Venice, probably annoyed everyone around me at a glassblowing demonstration, and MOST IMPORTANTLY saw my favourite band (@crimsonpirates) play eight shows over two days, every single one of them incredible 🏴‍☠️

Day 3 of our Night-gown workshop was a great success! Gown side seams are in, skirt pleats are begun, and a sleeve has been set. We are so impressed with the gowns all of our participants created and can’t wait to see them finished.

About that #burnleyandtrowbridgeworkshop …To Cut the Perfect Shape.

It was amazing. I loved every minute of it and learned SOOOOO much. I now know how to use a grid/grain lines to drape a bodice, and get it fitted correctly. Before the workshop the entire idea of this had me like 🤯😫😤. I thought I’d never learn. This is where @adventures_in_mantuamaking comes in. Brooke is the best instructor. She is wonderful at her job and a joy to be around. 🥰

I also got to meet a few people that live in my phone. @sunndoesntknow @forgottenfoppery @ladykatehs and @matimo (it was an honor, really, to be stabbed twice in 2.5 seconds by such an amazing archaeologist. Seriously though, you were the best partner and I appreciate the work you put into getting me fitted. Thank you! 💕) shout out to @graciesews for helping us along all weekend.

I also got to meet the fabulous @markslauren who took me for an after dark walk in Williamsburg. I was blown away by her knowledge about the entire area and her welcoming soul. Thank you!! I can’t wait to hang out again. 💕

Thank you @burnleyandtrowbridge for offering these worships. I can’t wait to put what I learned into action. 🥰🥰 (Also, Angela told me how to historically stuff 🌙🌙my stays at the bust and I feel really special getting that lesson). 😬😬

For anyone that wants to take a workshop at B&T, do it!!! You’ll learn so much.

Our workshop, “To Cut the Perfect Fit,” is done! Each student now has a fitted gown front, back, and sleeve that they can now use as a base to make all sorts of 18th century gowns. Be sure to check out our stories for more behind the scenes of the workshop!
