Superstar Tim Oakland ran The Leicester half marathon today for the Matt Biggs Sanctuary Garden at Mount Vernon Cancer unit. He’s raised over a £1000 in support of the building of the final stage of the garden. If you can please donate - every pound counts. Link in bio. #community #health #friendship #gardens

From intern to graduate, Jack’s journey has been pretty special 🧡✨

We caught up with the wonderful Jack to hear all about his time at Mission EmployAble and what he loved most 🥰

Jack has been an absolute joy to work with over the past year and we couldn’t be prouder of all he’s achieved.

We can’t wait to see where his journey takes him next! 🤩

It’s been a pleasure watching Samuel grow throughout his time at Mission Employable! 🧡

During his work experience at Mountbatten Lodge, Sam was working with the Enrichment Team, supporting the residents of the care home. He played games with the residents (Snakes and Ladders, bingo, pelmanism) and engaged them in conversations. Sam also served refreshments to the residents. 👏

From building his confidence and developing new skills, we couldn’t be prouder of everything he has achieved!😆

Listen to Samuel share his experience at Mission Employable!

Sunnyside Rural Trust has just been granted planning permission for a new extension to its activity centre. Now it needs to be built!

Trombe founder, Alan West, a trustee at Sunnyside, is putting out a direct call to his network to help get this built.

Anyone who knows Alan knows he's passionate about supporting causes he believes in, and this one is especially close to his heart.

This extension will make a real difference to the trainees who use the centre every day. If you're in a position to help, or know someone who is, get in touch.

Sunnyside is very proud to have been named one of the top 20 go-to plant sellers for garden designers to get their perennials, grasses and shrubs in the 2026 Financial Times article “Where do garden designers buy their plants?”. The article lists the preferences of lead designers such as Honor Reekie from Tom Stuart-Smith Studio.

This is a testament to our staff, trainees and volunteers’ commitment to nurturing and growing the highest quality plants!

Just a few of the reasons to come and visit #sunnysideartsfair when we reopen on Saturday 10th October.

I can tell you how great it is but I think it's much better coming from the people who make this community arts event possible!

I had a lovely time at the Almshouses Summer Party with Watford FC and England legend, Luther Blissett!

It was especially great to be able to wish Kay (Catherine Simmonds) a very Happy 103rd Birthday!

The Almshouses were founded in 1580 and originally built to house eight women from the local area. Now they provide homes to 18 independent living homes to over 60s with strong local ties.

The gardens recently underwent a transformation overseen by @sunnysiderural - they’re looking beautiful!
