[Dew Kim - The 13th Busan Biennale] PODIUM is proud to share that Dew Kim’s (@dew_needs_you) site-specific installation ‘The Stage – After God’ (2026) is currently on view at the 13th Busan Biennale (@busanbiennale). This iteration is co-curated by Amal Khalaf (@amalandaplan) and Evelyn Simons (@evelyn_simons). Dew Kim transforms the Museum of Contemporary Art Busan and the former Busan Nam High School into a single, three-act pilgrimage. Across these linked spaces, the work traces how marginalised bodies absorb the costs of blind faith, dogmatic idolatry, and desire; and what persists once objects of worship have vanished and no clear point of orientation remains. Here, Kim choreographs a passage through absence: from the sacrifice of an offering, through an empty centre, to the emergence of a new order. Co-commissioned by Sunpride Foundation (@sunpridefoundation) and Busan Biennale Organising Committee, 2026. This work has been made possible with the generous support of Patrick Sun, founder of Sunpride Foundation. _ The 13th Busan Biennale – Dissident Chorus ‘The Stage – After God’ 29 August - 01 November 2026 Image: Installation view of ‘The Stage – After God’, The 13th Busan Biennale, 2026. As a pipe organ “exhales,” the latex surface compresses, revealing fossil-like imprints of these bodies. The surrounding emptiness and suspension evoke ritual tension, suggesting that such violence continues to reverberate quietly through everyday life—woven into gestures that still depend on the kneeling of some to confirm the power of others. _ The 13th Busan Biennale – Dissident Chorus ‘The Stage – After God’ 29 August - 01 November 2026 Image: Installation view of ‘The Stage – After God’, The 13th Busa

Founded by Patrick Sun, CIMAM Patron since 2023, Sunpride recently concluded the fourth edition of the "Spectrosynthesis" series at Art Sonje Center in Seoul, co-curated by CIMAM Board member Sunjung Kim and Yongwoo Lee and featuring over 70 artists exploring LGBTQ+ perspectives and related themes. In this interview, Sun speaks about why international networks like CIMAM are essential for museums navigating a time of growing social fragmentation, and how institutional collaboration can turn queer art from a special interest into a vital part of contemporary art history. 🫴🏻 Read the full interview on our website: https://cimam.org/interview-with-patrick-sun-director-of-sunpride-foundation/ #CIMAM #Interviews #cimamperspectives

𝗠𝗶𝗱𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁: Au Sow Yee 𝗠𝗶𝗱𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 is a monthly series that invites established Southeast Asian contemporary artists to take stock of their career thus far, reflect upon generational shifts and consider the advantages and challenges of working in the present day. Au Sow Yee (@ausowyee) works across video installations and theatrical performances, exploring how image-making is entangled with history and geopolitics. Drawing from folklore, cinema, popular culture and archival sources, her projects question how images and stories are distorted by colonial and Cold War ideologies. She has exhibited at major institutions such as Sharjah Biennial (2023), Busan Biennale (2022), Taipei Fine Arts Museum (2021), and Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin (2017) among others. In this conversation, Sow Yee reflects on her artistic journey. She shares key moments in her career as well as her collaboration with Taiwanese theatre director Chen Yow-Ruu as part of the artistic duo Her Lab Space (@herlabspace). Patrick Sun, founder of the Hong Kong-based Sunpride Foundation, on Spectrosynthesis Seoul — Korea's first major queer art exhibition at a leading institution, at Art Sonje Center through June 28.

I Am Visible, 2019; “Visible” [exhibition] Queensland Art Gallery, 2018; I am Visible, Enlighten Festival, 2019; The Hand You’re Dealt, 2015 Tony Albert Stimulate discussion and create change. ‘His work engages with political, historical and cultural Aboriginal and Australian history, examining the legacy of racial and cultural misrepresentation and seeking to rewrite historical mistruths and injustice. … Albert realized that creating work is not only visually appealing, but also acts as a vehicle for stimulating discussion and creating change. His artistic practice involves collaborating, repurposing and re-imagining popular culture paraphernalia, social and political movements, in order to tell the stories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.‘ sunrise.hk #2SLGBTQIAplusContemporaryArt #TonyAlbert #🏳️‍🌈ContemporaryArt #AboriginalContemporaryArt #IndigenousContemporaryArt “Visible” [exhibition] Queensland Art Gallery, 2018 … “Aboriginalia” is a term coined by Albert to describe the kitschy paraphernalia that depicts stereotypical Aboriginality from a colonial ethnographic perspective. During his childhood living in the suburbs, he started collecting “Aboriginalia”, the aboriginal kitsch objectsfilled tourist shops to depict cringey stereotypes of Indigenous people, including playing cards, tea towels, ashtrays, wall-hangings and mugs. The collection of “Aboriginalia” initially stemmed from something very innocent. Albert genuinely loved the iconography and imagery, particularly the faces, which reminded him of his family. After studying history in high school, Albert became more aware of Indigenous issues. He now understands their deeper connotations – how they co-opt and disempower Indigenous voices. sunrise.hk I am Visible, [projections] Enlighten Festival, 2019 ‘Photographic portraits show a number of young Aboriginal men from the hostel with targets painted on their chests. The boys stand resolute and proud of who they are and their culture. The target is a symbolic role with various connotations. It could be interpreted as Aboriginal art, a speaker with the vibrations of sound waves or a rock thrown into a pond and the ripple effect that
