Nothing makes us happier than being a part of your holiday celebrations. Seeing families stop to take photos with our decorated truck, the barrel tree shining and Rex the Winosaur smiling for the camera, fills us with so much joy. 🎄🦖✨

Thank you for making us a small part of your holiday memories. We feel grateful to be woven into the spirit of this valley and this season.

Thankful for our Sunset Suisun family for your help putting the truck together and for our Suisun Valley neighbors for putting on a great event.

Happy holidays from all of us at Sunset Suisun. ❤️🍷🌟

🌿 BIG HARVEST DAY 2025 🌿
From sunrise to Sunset, we picked grapes, shared stories, and reconnected with the roots of our wine. 🍇✨

Our Japanese club members traveled all the way from Japan to join us for this special harvest — helping us bring in fruit from three vineyards that define who we are:

🍷 Estate Barbera & Sangiovese — where our members adopt their own vines and see their work come to life in every cluster.
🍷 DePass-Paulson Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon — the first Black-owned vineyard in Green Valley. Having the DePass-Paulson family’s children alongside us made it even more meaningful as this fruit becomes part of “Generations,” our multi-vintage Cabernet.
🍷 Parenti Vineyard Carignan — at 90 years old, it’s Solano County’s oldest vineyard and the only one registered with the Historic Vineyard Society. Working here means touching a living piece of California wine history.

It was a long, beautiful day of sweat, laughter, and gratitude. We were reminded that wine begins not in the glass, but in the hands and hearts of those who tend the vines. 🌅❤️

The countdown to Harvest 2025 begins
This morning I walk the Lucchesi Vineyard, which is usually our first pick of the harvest, to assess how close we are to the beginning of the harvest season. The vineyard looks gorgeous, and the grapes are just finishing ripening. We are at least a few weeks away from harvest. Stay tuned for more harvest updates from Sunset Cellars team.

Bottling is our commencement ceremony. 🍇🍷🎓
The years of work in the vineyard and cellar — the decisions, the revisions, the care — all lead to this moment. Like proud parents on graduation day, we place the final cork, affix the label, and watch our bottles march out into the world, ready to meet their future. 🧑‍🎓👩‍🎓👨‍🎓

They carry our hopes, our fingerprints, and all the stories we poured into them. We can’t control where they’ll go or who they’ll meet — but we know they’re ready.

Will you join us in raising a glass to the class of 2025?
Come visit Sunset Suisun and meet these fine young wines for yourself.

Bottling! 🍾 The day all the winemakers love to hate. It’s not just because it’s like watching your kids graduate 🥹, it takes a lot of work and logistics to get the wine into the bottles at its best!

Over the course of three weeks, we prepped our 2023 vintage wines for bottling—filtration, blending, QC (including sulfite levels), and transportation. Sounds straightforward, but these “simple” steps are anything but.

We logged over 40 hours of filtration—some runs went overnight into the early morning. Blending involved fine-tuning percentages to get every lot just right. Meanwhile, logistics had to align across bottling schedules, labels, corks, capsules, labor… and of course, bottling line availability.

Just when we thought we had it all lined up, our flatbed truck got a flat—mid-delivery 😱. With wines already loaded and summer heat creeping in, we had to improvise fast. Heat spikes 🌡️, direct sun ☀️ , oxygen 💨—all risks we had to outmaneuver to protect the quality of our wine.

Massive thanks to our bottling partners for rolling with the punches, and to everyone who helped us cross the finish line.

Stay tuned for Part 2: Bottling Day.
We’re almost there. 🍇🚛🍾

Winemaking isn’t all vineyards and tastings—sometimes, it’s a full day of heavy lifting and strategic moves. Today, we reorganized the cellar to make space for our new 2024 barrels and prepared our mature barrels for bottling next year. It’s not the glamorous side of winemaking, but it’s the backbone of the craft. Logistics wins wars, and it definitely delivers wine. Most of winemaking? Just moving liquid around with purpose. Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at the work that ensures each bottle reaches your glass perfectly. #WinemakingLife #BehindTheScenes #CellarWork
